3 nil up and I'm the better fan posts start popping up.
We've really turned it round since half time in the Chelsea game. Deserved wins against Man Utd and Leicester...should be 5 points better off.

It’s not a “better fan” contest, you’ve completely misinterpreted it mate. I just find the negativity nauseating, particularly when we are 3-0 up. No one has said anyone is a better or worse fan.smuts wrote:3 nil up and I'm the better fan posts start popping up.

As for the result , Southampton may have improved but they still have their weaknesses - if we can replicate the type of performance we put on yesterday we'll win by 2 clear goals , it's the last Home Game so I'm hoping they can muster something similar .
West Ham United 3 Southampton 1
That's what I get from using animal entrails , could have sworn I could see them getting 1 .

Good win 2 clean sheets in a row. Kept our composure when Soton started growing into the game. Wilshere had a decent cameo. Good to see Sanchez returning too. Noble ran the show first half, Arnie was lively and took his goals well. Onwards and upwards.

Great end to the season, These four last games, and two good wins.
Noble so much Captain. Obiang’s best game for ages and impressive back line.

Sounded like Arnie could ave had a hat-trick if a pass had gone to him. Threw himself to the ground in frustration. Didn't sound good first part of second half (Cuencs is right! Free Cuencs!) but the turn-on later sounds like good grounds for optimism. Noble, waxes and wanes but has ben excellent lately. We'll miss him one day.

I bloody love watching Noble play football, when he plays games like that. Absolutely superb captain's performance.

Good solid win, apart from about 15-20 early second half we bossed the game.
Hats off to the skipper today, Nobes ran the show. Obiang played his best game in ages and good to see Lanzini buzzing around.

Aside from 20 minutes after half time, we bossed that game big time and played some lovely football.
The pace the full backs injected into the attacks for the 2nd and 3rd goals was superb.. Most of our lot were at least 7/10, and there was probably at least four who were 8's or 9's.
Southampton have been dire the last four times we've played them.

My heart ****ing bleeds. I'm still sick of these twats and their antics both in the Championship, and then deriding any pass over 5 yards as a hoof, as if they're some sort of purists.bubbles1966 wrote:Southampton have been dire the last four times we've played them.

We definitely needed the wilshere for diagara change. The combo of antonio, lanzini, and diangara was badly lacking end product. I don't like antonio on the left, all his best games have been on the right. I think if anderson had have played, we'd have possibly scored even more. Luckily we didn't miss Rice too much as Obiang had a very good game.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Southampton: Match Thread
A couple of things learned from this game:
1) We can play and also win WITHOUT Rice and Anderson, and thats good news...
2) BUT, we cant win without a solid DEFENSE (Balbuena)
3) Fredericks MotM. Happy for the lad
4) Good performances from Masuaku, Noble, Arnautovic, Balbuena, Obiang
5) Pérez can also play the role of a winger pretty good.. Thats why I would not sell him.
6) Diangana is good, but hes still a bit not 100% done as a regular starter.

.....and although really sad that see a founder member of the football league and indeed, the world's oldest football club relegated out of it altogether, I am really thrilled for Sol Campbell in keeping Macclesfield up
Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Southampton: Match Thread
That would have placed placed us 8th. It's a shame that we got done by non-subjective calls. The goal(s) are either offside or not offside, getting the short end of those black and white calls still hurts.smuts wrote:3 nil up and I'm the better fan posts start popping up.

Just to rub it in, Wolves should be 2 points worst off given their goal against Man. City was a handball in a game that ended 1-1. So, we really should be heading into the final game in 7th, even without the cushion of extra points stolen from us in that Liverpool game.
