I think we should follow SCRs lead and play upbeat euro pop after every west ham goal. It would gelp the atmosphere at the London Stadium and maybe cheer some of you miserable sods up!

I must say Sanchez looked absolutely awful. I think his goal was a fluke and everything bad came through him. Noble, Antonio, Wilshere, Anderson, Diangana and Byram all looked good.

And that was against 'lesser' opposition to the Prem. Everyone knows how I feel towards Sanchez anyway, so won't go on about him. Nice Fro though!

Yeah I don't really want to see Macy Gray at the base of our midfield next season either.

F*** all the negativity it was a good night out with all the usual faces. Football entirely secondary.

Agree, thought he was our worst player. Pre-season so probably expect nothing else but we didn’t feel particularly fluid moving the ball through him from defence to midfield.WorcesterWHU wrote:Yeah I don't really want to see Macy Gray at the base of our midfield next season either.

Please lets remember that this was our first match of pre season, and the first time he's kicked a ball in nearly 12 months. I think we can excuse him some rustiness. We will obviously require a higher level of perfomance than this once the season is underway.Peaches wrote:I must say Sanchez looked absolutely awful. I personally don't rate Sanchez anyway and he'd be one of the next players out of the door if I was the manager. But I don't always judge players by their pre-season matches, as they can be misleading.
Last pre-season I thought Issa Diop looked very shakey and I was worried he wouldn't be quite good enough for Premier League football just yet, if at all. But he certainly didn't do too bad once he got into the starting line-up.

early flight out from luton with plenty of time for a few pre match drinks and chatter and last flight back to Gatwick, which flight I just about made.
have to admire those there who were then going to china - real dedication and clearly very understanding spouses/partners and/or employers.

Official programme lists an unusual midfield for Southampton in their friendly with Altach this afternoon.
Noble, Wilshere and Rice?

That’s the best Southampton matchday squad I’ve ever seen!
