It was absolutely great to watch as a STH at times last year and I’ll take the same again as a “Lyall was the template” supporter

Honestly aside from the last Boleyn season under Slav and a few spells here & there under Chocolate and Zola, I’ve not really enjoyed most of the football we’ve played versus results over the last 20 years - I reckon I loathed about 90% of the stuff we played under Sam, Moyes, Grant, Roeder, second season Slav, Curbs...

We even got the classic “literally capitulating completely” Lyall style Wimbledon results last season

Without Fab in goal we always look a little nervous, unfortunately I don't think Roberto helped matters today, I'm sure he will improve with a few run outs in the cups.

Get Masuaku in for Cresswell, Fabianski for Roberto and start with Johnson or Fredericks.

During the games he has played this pre-season we have conceded six goals.

If he was a starting full back this year, he would be targeted by any opposition we played.

A talent in the coming years, quite possibly. First team starter now? Not a chance.

Cuenca, you may need your eyes testing .
Antonio still has the same number, or are you taking the pi*s?

I thought Johnson looked raw and not ready today. Gave the ball away in a dangerous area for their second and lost his man then out-paced for their third. He is talented though and will get better for sure - but for now, he needs to be introduced slowly to protect his confidence. Fredericks starts for me.

Agreed

Thought we looked much better when zab and mas came on

Fredricks and mas are first choice in my eyes, taking nothing away from Johnson, HB are a good side and he has lots of potential

Were the 6 goals all his fault then?

He has looked better than Cresswell in both of the last 2 games, age shouldn't come into it, he looks confident and assured on the ball, and he is good in the tackle.

I wouldn't be worried to see him start against Man City.

I've never seen him look ready. He's looked well short for me in every game he's played. Only a kid though so I'd send him on loan. He looks big enough to handle the Championship physically.

Johnson looks good going forward but looked suspect defensively today, needs a bit more work imho, same as Diangana did.

Keep him around the squad and give him some minutes and next season he'll be close to the finished article.

Not every youngster is gonna walk into the side like Rice did.

I thought Diangana looked as good as any of our forward players in his cameo, could have had two assists too, very promising.

If Creswell is the yardstick then we’re in trouble and so is Johnson

Fredericks every day to start against Citeh. Let the lad have his moment in that spot after we’re up & running.

sorry lads....

watched it in that youtube thing that wouldn't not go to full screen so forgive me - it was quick stuff no commentary.......or at least none played.......

if I would have read back the entire match thread I would have known what was what and who was who.

don't think they had their names on their shirts ???????

and couldn't watch live (which is why I wanted just the goals) as I was out this morning - 6 hour time difference for me - sorry.....

but thanks for the clarification - I'll try not to mention that I was out this morning more than about 5 or 6 times !!!!
