Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
Could have been 7-0... maybe more.
Started off slow but we settled and played some good football.
Anderson the MOTM, his runs and some of his passes were exquisite.
Was annoyed we didn’t score more, plus that penalty for the Haller foul was stone wall.
Nice to see us start reasonably. Still a tad touchy regarding the City match but we’ve played so well since.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
On way home. Norwich pressed hard at the start and caused us a few problems. We had to ride that bit of the game out knowing they couldn't do it all game.
Once we scored we looked very comfortable. Pleased for Arthur to get the assist and pleased for Yarmolenko to score. Assume he ran to the physio to celebrate.
Motm Anderson by a country mile. Worth the admission fee alone.

Still not managed the art of watching a stream on the phone and reading the forum.
Fantastic performance, particularly second half. 5-0 wouldn't have been out of the way at all.
That's a pen on Haller though.

another 2 replays of Salah's shot...
I think the first effort from Yarmo was harder than the goal he scored....

You can thank me for the clean sheet I purposely captained Pukki in fantasy footy to put the hoodoo on him and make sure he didn't score

That’s interesting- if anything, I would say Chelsea look the better team! Man U look clueless!Collison Theory wrote:
I can definitely see someone from outside last year's top six finishing above either of them (probably Chelsea), though I would say at this point my money would be on Leicester or Wolves. But if we have a good season there's no reason we can't push at least one of those sides, they simply aren't that good.

Not sure how he does it because he runs like an old man that’s **** his pants.

Know what you mean by that. He sort of floats about all over the pitch and always seems to pop up in dangerous areas. The Moth wrote:Delighted for Yarmolenko to get his goal, he always looks like hes going to score to me even when clearly not 100% fit.

Good performance against a team made for us.
Anderson was superb. If he can transfer this form when we play established PL teams, and not just against the PL stragglers, we will have really good attacking threat.
Haller looked good with his hold up play. He may lack a yard of pace to be top, top quality but he is more than good enough for us.
Enjoyable afternoon.

We were comfortable in the end but fair play to Norwich they started both halves really well, they also defended well throughout with blocks, goal like clearances and Krull being their MOTM for me.
Fredricks started a bit wobbly but really contributed well after that. Yarmalenko looked decent, not up to his pre injury standard but like he was playing himself back to fitness. Lanzini looked good again, very involved, some mazey runs some key contributions.
It's hard to pick anyone who didn't have a good game to be honest. Snodgrass for missing that chance at the end I suppose...
Haller on a scoring run as well, thought he fought hard all game for every ball.
For all they did if Norwich don't have any more than that they're going to get relegated. After our second they barely threatened and baring the header they missed they had 2 offside chances and not a lot else. They looked like they just didn't have any prem quality in the team. It could be a very long season for them.

Tim Krul was MOTM. It would have been at least 5 without him.
Yarmolenko could have had a hattrick, Haller should have had a penalty and Lanzini and Anderson could have had a couple each.
To be fair Norwich probably dhouod have had one when Cantwell missed heading into the open goal, but I thought Ogbonna and Diop did a great job on Pukki.

Maybe right now, but Chelsea have a weaker squad. Last season they were an average team + Hazard. Now they don't have Hazard...Ironing Board wrote: That’s interesting- if anything, I would say Chelsea look the better team! Man U look clueless!
