Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
Antonio is going to be a big miss for this.
I’d go with:
———————-Fabianski
Fredericks—Balbuena—Ogbonna—Arthur
——————-Rice—Noble
Anderson——-Wilshere——Lanzini
———-———-Haller
Subs: Roberto, Diop (needs a kick up the arse), Creswell, Fornals, Yarmolenko, Ajeti and Hernandez.

We should be too strong for them. Mic Ant a big, lengthy loss for us though.
Their Pooky is scoring for fun atm, so shepherd him carefully...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
Such a blow to lose Antonio. Typical it happens to a player who was on such great form...
Agree with those saying same team as Watford. Not Fornals please as he just doesn’t look physically ready for the PL so far, and to be honest seems like a slightly inferior Lanzini. The other option is Wilshere in a more attacking position as I see stu suggests, but having had a week’s rest I’d probably still go form Yarmo.
Diop starts for me but needs a bit of a kick up the backside.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
No Yarmo yesterday, but their goals should give Wilshere and Fornals a boost. I'm going with Fornals on the right, but Wilshere could play as the 10 with Lanzini moving wide.
4-2-3-1: Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku; Rice, Noble; Fornals, Lanzini, Anderson; Haller.
Subs: Roberto, Cresswell, Balbuena, Sanchez, Wilshere, Yarmo, Ajeti.
WHU 2-1 Norwich

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
Notwithstanding that we lost 0-5, in our first game, Norwich have already conceded more than us over the 3 league games we've played.
A winnable game coming up, I would have thought, but I would revert to Balbuena and Ogbonna in the defence, put Noble and Rice back together in the middle and then hope, to a degree, that Yarmolenko can put himself about a bit more, to compensate for Antonio's unavailability.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
a must win game to keep the momentum going now. win and its a good start for us. lose and its poor.
fabianski
fredericks diop Balbuena masuaka
noble rice lanzini
yarmolenko haller Anderson
subs Roberto Johnson ogbonna Snodgrass wilshere fornals Hernandez
such a miss Antonio will be. gives options as a winger and forward. also has real pace and strength that the others don't have .
drop cresswell from the squad as he was so poor. Johnson can cover both sides. maybe sanchez on the bench instead of Snodgrass who was so poor last night.
If yarmolenko is not fit then I would start with Hernandez and haller up top in a 4 2 2 2 formation

Go BTTS in this one and you’re just printing money aren’t you?
Could be absolutely anything this one. Pukki will fine gaps between the centre backs and full backs. They seem to play with 3 number 10’s behind him as well. If we can dominate possession and create chances of our own we’ll keep the ball away from our penalty box. That’s probably our best bet.
3-2 West Ham I’ll go for. Haller, Yarmolenko, Anderson.

3-0 hammers as we finally get flowing and shore up the defence. haller x2 Anderson with the goals.
we need to play a settled backline now
the best available for me would be fredericks diop Balbuena masuaka with Johnson and oggy on the bench. zaba is too slow to start and cresswell is useless.

Far too much optimism. Puki will score and we've just lost our 'power and pace' outlet.
Plus, when everyone starts predicting easy wins, the wheels come off and we get beaten...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
as pelle says we must think and act as a big club. Its the acting bit that does us. hopefully noble will fire them up before the international break.
lets hope there is good news on Antonio and he is only out for a few weeks. may be back for palace game or after the next international break away at everton ?

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
This Norwich team have created chances for fun against Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle, with also there defence giving chances away for fun. This game will be very open what with our defence, and it could go either way.
Not sure if Wilshire is up for two games in the space of a few days?
Fabianski
Fredericks Diop Balbuena Masuaku
Noble Rice
Wilshire
Lanzini Haller Anderson
Subs: Roberto Zabeleta, Ogbonna Snodgrass Yarmolenko Fornals Hernandez

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
Norwich look ok from the highlights, like to get forward and made some good chances, plus taken some. With that in mind I cannot see us keeping a clean sheet presently, too many frailties back there which makes for an exciting game ahead.
3-2 to us, cannot see their defence (which looks dodgy with Hanley at CB looking out of place currently) keeping us out. Think our attacking players will cause any team in the PL a few problems, apart from the Mickeys & Man C I see us giving everyone a game this season.
Agree with the poster who said win, good start to the season, lose, poor start. Big game for the mighty hammers.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread
Probably a similar match to the Watford game - chances at both ends which will be determined who takes the most of them. Unlike the Watford one, I doubt we can rely on them putting one wide from six inches out.
High scoring draw.
