Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
I'd get Anderson on the right for this game, terrorising Luke Shaw.
If I was Haller I'd be pulling on to Lindelof or even wan Bissaka, Maguire is a monster in the air but sh*t on the floor. Let Lanzini run at him.

I may come to regret this but this isn't a 'typical' Manchester utd. we're accustomed to. I don't feel there is anything to fear, keeper aside they have a decidedly average squad. Get at them and go for the jugular.

I fully believe we're every bit as good as this current Man U team. I fully expect us to put in an excellent performance, but not take our chances and get done by a slice of Man U jamminess or individual brilliance, as per our last league result against them. And the Payet FA cup matches.

Who you having at left back? Johnson, Cresswell and Zabaleta – after his effective cameo at the weekend – all have about an equal claim for one reason or another.
Pretty much none of them can be expected to offer anything much in attack on Sunday. So it's really who's going to do the best job keeping them out. Couldn't call it.

Pace of Johnson is probably a decent shout.
If they're playing Lingard we can put a traffic cone up against him and be fine.

Pogba may be back, Martial doubtful. James hasn't trained for some reason

If we play like we did against Villa I think we'll lose this one.

I’d like to see Zabaleta stand in for Masuaku
Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
Dont think Zabaleta should be anywhere near the first team now. He looks like an old man when he plays.
Pellegrini will have to find alternatives to have any chance in this game.

I reckon he will put in a good performance as he knows he is dropping down the order for a first team place. just need him to defend properly.
Whatever you think about Cresswell, booing him can only damage one team. Us.
It's almost like cheering for the opposition.

Douglas Bader could have beaten Maguire in a footrace..

My biggest fear, as I pray our players don't think the same and it comes back to haunt us.

Amazing how the stock of Cresswell has fallen when we speak of players playing out of position to cover Arthur. He hasn't been the same since that injury however, i would start him. I don't think he is that bad.... (famous last words).
Credit where it is due to Oggy and Diop, they have been decent over the last couple of games. A few weeks ago i couldn't imagine The General being benched for Oggy however, i would stick with those two.
Haller is a fantastic forward in my opinion as he seems to be able to do a bit of everything however, i think because he is tall it makes him look a bit awkward. Also love how he brings other players into the game. Think we will be in trouble if he is missing from the team.
The biggest compliment I can offer Pellegrini at the moment is I genuinely find it hard to pick an 11 now especially going forward so i am not going to list a team, just think we will win this one 2-1.

A lot of their fans claiming they don't like this game because it's a cup final for us? .
Maybe in the Fergie days...now I see this as a game we really should be able to win, and a defeat would be massively disappointing. Pretty far down my list of 'cup final' fixtures...

Not just any players playing out of position: one's a geriatric and the other a virtual footballing foetus.
And it's still a hard decision.
