Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)
The keeper’s not the problem. He’s a problem, but not the problem.
Our players don’t react whenever the pressure is on. They’re coasting and have bee n for years. The message from the top is that survival is enough and that comes through loud and clear in our transfer dealings, our cup selections and the fact that Pellegrini refuses to make major changes to the side.
I, confident we’ll lose today. We haven’t ‘turned up’ in weeks. Blaming Roberto gives the rest far too much credit. Snodgrass has been our best player for weeks and from an ability point of view, he probably shouldn’t make our bench, let alone our first team. That should tell you how hard everyone else is working.
No-one gives a ****. And it shows.
I won’t watch. I’ll check the result later. I’m not sure I’d even call myself a fan anymore. Sad times.

Let's hope Roberto, Diop and Balbuena have had some jumping practice this week.

I don't think Roberto and Balbuena will play, nor Anderson either. I see wholesale changes from last week.
Thin it will be something like this:-
….…………………………………………………………………………………………………Martin...…………………………………………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………...Fred...……………………………..Diop...…………………………….Og…………………………………………………...Arthur...………….
…………………………………………………………………………………………………...Rice...……………………………………………………………………………………………………
……………………………………… Yarmi...…………………………...Nobes…………………………………Wilshere...…………………………………………....Lanzini...…..
………………………………………………………………………………………………...Haller...…………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Play anywhere near like we did for the first 70 minutes against the Geordies and we'll get smashed.
Oggy has to come in for either Issa "I can't head a ball for toffee" Diop or Balbuena who was atrocious last week and again isn't too great in the air.

Burnley are currently 13/10 for anyone that wants to soften the blow.

I am so in despair of West Ham winning or me ever getting a bet right, that I have an eery feeling that the only way for us to win is if I have a large bet on Burnley.
Although that would probably be a sure recipe for a draw...

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)
If it were me, or we had a different manager, I'd go back to three centre backs and stick Fred and Arfur as wing backs.
The midfield doesn't do anywhere near enough unless we are playing the real dross of the division or teams who are so confident that they will let us play because they think they are better than us .
I think we're going to get badly beaten today (hopefully I'm wrong). Burnley normally do everything that our lot show no sign of being able to cope with.
Chris Wood to score looks like free money at the bookies.

Ogbonna needs to come back in for Balbuena. Diop isn't great in the air, but he's still been our best defender with ease. I would personally bring Fredericks, Ogbonna and Masuaku back in.

Don't know why, but just have a feeling we'll come away with a win. When all's said and done we have a better squad than Burnley. If our lot roll up their sleeves and apply themselves they should win. I'll get back to my drugs now.
