Allegedly, ManU seriously want him in January.

I'd go with:

------------------------------Roberto-------------------------------

------------------Diop------Ogbonna-------Cresswell------------

-Fredericks-----------Rice----------Snodgrass-----------Masuaku-

------------------------------Anderson---------------------------------

-------------------Yarmolenko-------Haller---------------------------

Subs: Martin, Balbuena, Johnson, Noble, Lanzini, Holland, Ajeti.

I reckon the only changes that will really happen is Ogbonna for Balbuena and Federicks for Zabaleta. The formation will remain the same and we'll lose 3-0.

I'd be astonished if anyone thinks we'll win this. Even when we've been in good form this lot have bullied us and done us 2-0. We will get battered next week. The exact kind of physical hardworking side that excel playing against us.

3-1 Burnley, Wood x2, Rodriguez and Noble pen.

Season over and a fight for 10th-15th beckons. :thdn:

The trouble with that is, you run the risk of f*cking up both Roberto & Martin, confidence wise.
I understand your reasoning h, Roberto seems to have gone from Adrian to Randolph. A bad mistake for (at the least) their second goal yesterday.
Dropping him now could really ruin him.

This game is crying out for 352 as others have said. 3 cbs to battle their 2 big centre forwards, Freds and Arthur in their more natural positions, and Ajeti to give Haller someone to link with up top. Horses for courses, just think Pellers is too rigid with his formation at times. No doubt it'll be the same old same old and we'll get bullied into a 3.0 defeat

3 things I know about this game:

1. Burnley will be really, really up for it
2. Our centre backs will get bullied by their forwards
3. Burnley will score from at least one set piece
I'll add another, if he plays, Chris Wood will score.

Absolute banker of a home win unless something drastically changes.

Was thinking about this today... Euros coming up in the summer and Rice will want to keep his place in the squad - if we will be in a relegation battle, which I think we will be, his place would be seriously in doubt.

Man U won't be interested in him in January
They have McTominay who plays in pretty much the same role and they have very high hopes for him

Rice is going nowhere in January. He won't risk his England spot by going somewhere where he may not play every week

pelle needs to change the direction of WHU as we are heading down. make rice the captain and try and play with some pace. That means masuaka fredericks and Anderson must start.
not convinced by yarmolenko, has scored a couple of goals but is slow, doesn't get back and looks unfit. would start ajeti and give him a few games.

pelle wont play 352 although I would like him to as it would stiffen us up a bit. we still have the weak centre but with this formation I reckon rice could do the cm role on his own as the DM.

get Holland on the bench as he is playing well. give him a go.

when is Johnson back ?

---------roberto
fred-balb-diop---masuaku
------rice--snodgrass
holland--lanzini-anderson
-----------haller

we aren't winning this one by keeping the gate shut, so put every bit of pace we can into the XI and start with the mentality that we're already 3-0 down and there's 15 left to play.

No doubt about it we are in a relegation battle with Spurs and Man U. I really would be tempted to go for our U23 keeper.

Both teams were rubbish at the weekend.... I think it's going to be a simple case of who's going to be slightly less rubbish on the day.

The key thing is... Burnley are very capable of scoring goals whilst playing rubbish, especially from set-pieces and high balls into the box, which of course happens to be our main weakness.

I'd be tempted to play Balbuena and Ogbonna together for this... Diop is surprisingly weak in the air considering his size.

Also... Burnley can defend against crosses all day. I'd play 4-3-3 with Yarmolenko and Anderson playing narrower than normal and playing off Haller.
