Here we are... the wingless wonders. Haller the key man, Yarmolenko and Anderson making runs behind. Play more direct. Haller able to hold the ball up and actually have options around him and in front of him.

-------------------------roberto

-----------------Balbuena-----Ogbonna------------

Fredericks---------------rice---------------Masuku

----------------Snodgrass-----lanzini (or fornals)

---------------------------Haller--------------------

----------------Yarmolenko----Anderson

------------------------------Anderson---------------------------------

-------------------Yarmolenko-------Haller---------------------------

Subs: Martin, Balbuena, Johnson, Noble, Lanzini, Holland, Ajeti.

I reckon the only changes that will really happen is Ogbonna for Balbuena and Federicks for Zabaleta. The formation will remain the same and we'll lose 3-0.
Would love to see Anderson central

Not a massive fan of most skillful players on the wing all time.. payet I always thought was much better as a CAM and wasted on the left

Anderson could do so much damage behind the strikers

p.s. make that Burnley 1 West Ham United 3 [ Haller 2 , Snodgrass ] .

With Snodgrass in such scintillating form he's bound to get on the scoresheet .

Having fast and energetic full backs allows the wide men to tuck in easier and get closer to Haller.
I would consider Holland from the bench for this one. I wouldn't dare start him though. One bad game and half our fanbase would be writing him off as useless.

I would go with
Roberto, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Rice, Noble, Snodgrass, Lanzini, Anderson, Haller.

I would probably give Anderson a go on the right hand side to start, Lanzini left. They could always change depending on how successful they would be. Noble and Snoddy up against the centre mid pair of Burnley. Rice to play deeper to help cover where needed.

Also Burnleys defence excels in the air and are very well organised. They're not blessed with pace though. I think Haller will be best placed just outside the box where he's not marked so tightly. Andersons pace and Yarmolenko's off the ball movement (and left foot) will cause bigger problems for burnley in the box. If Haller can do his stuff, hold the ball up and feed those two in... it could work. He might stand a chance of someone actually being able to utilise one of his flick ons too. Don't know why I'm saying all this because we're 100% not going to do it!

I'd get Balbuena in for Cresswell in the defence and swap him and Ogbonna - based on nothing other than the fact I wouldn't fancy having Cresswell as a pure defensive centre back. But generally, I think if we are to change systems this is the way to go. Only question is, as you say, Pellegrini will make that dramatic a change.

Cresswell actually looked ok in a back three when he played there, and much better than he's played at left back over the last three seasons. Saying that though, the thought of him playing up against Wood and Barnes is terrifying.

Doubt if Pellers has a ****ing scooby who Wood and Barnes are, so that's exactly what he will do. You know it and I know it

did you see the u-23 link someone posted of the Swansea game ?

corner comes over, they win the ball with a soft header, keeper catches and drops it they smack it in.

no thanks,

Can we put Roberto and Martin in one giant rubber goalie suit to fill the target up a bit?

:D Burnley nails it.
If we're still losing after 80 minutes, someone run on the pitch & steal all 4 corners flags so the game can't continue.
And all crowd under the posh seats & stick your fingers up at Sully & Gold.

I'm backing the quiet man to outshine ole barky at the weekend as it's the absolute opposite of what should happen, it's the West Ham way coyi! :crest:

(Please Pellers play a front 3 à la funky chicken/Burnley Hammer)

I'll follow TOMoS' into the depths of madness with a 1-3 barnstorming victory (And yes, I am on a :thdn: load of medication!)

Their strikers will absolutely dominate Roberto I feel. A cold, damp afternoon up north in November. Our lot simply won't fancy it.
