Arsenal 2 West Ham Utd 0 (01/01/08)

Post by aaronhammer »

Well i started the United one and we won so lets see if it can continue.

After a very good all round performance and a fantastic result against the champions we face their challengers, Arsenal, who if they hold onto their result at the moment vs Everton will be top.

Last year we visited Ashburton Grove for the first time and became the first (and still the only) Premier League side to win there. They will be looking to beat us on their home ground for the first time for a while, and the way they have been this season its hard to see past that. Still we love the big games and with West Ham anything can happen.

The team should keep the same formation of 4-5-1 for this one, injuries permitting. However i would bring Anton in for Spector. If Solano is out, i think Pantsil gave a very good account for himself when he came on today. If Parker is out we may be forced to go into a 4-4-2 unless a few of the unknowns come back from injury.

My prediction 1-0 to Arsenal

Arsenal 1 - 2 West Ham

Confidence will be sky high after todays result and that, coupled with our away form, will bring us a second win at their place and a total of 7 points from the Christmas games.

Oh, happy days.

I see Bendtner was sent off against Everton so I presume that means sexcase will be starting. Has everyone remembered their laser pens?

We've won away to them the last two seasons but gotta admit I'm not expecting anything this time. We stay as solid as we have been at the back, we have a chance of a result mind

They were awesome in the second half against Everton today - hopefully they will feel that way in their next match. We need to get refocussed and i'd go 4-4-2 for this and go flat out! It's Greeno's turn to shine after a boring day today and I feel Deano is just bubbling under.

If he doesn't start bring him earlier than today.

Come on Curbs lets have a party line up the Arse!

If Everton had won today than the Arse would have shot right back at us next!

I've got corporate tickets again like last year ! A nice 3 course meal bottle of wine and loads of banter with L'Arse !

Taking Mrs TMH along, like last time she's our lucky mascot !

Another goal from us and an outstanding display from Rob Green for WHUFC to win 0-1 with the goal from Freddie !

ALL TOGETHER NOW " Last team at Highbury..........First team at the Emirates"

Oh joy

Its a hard game to call. On one hand they are top of the league and have the home advantage. On the other hand we tend to beat them and our away form is strong so i think we ahve every chance of coming out of the emirates with all 3 poitns though i would be happy with a draw.

--------------------------Green----------------------------------
Neill---------Anton-------------Upson-------Mccartney
-------------------------Spector--------------------------------
Paintsill------Noble-------------Mullins-------Ljunberg
---------------------------Cole------------------------------------

Bench
Wright
Dailly
LBM
Ashton
Camara

LBM is apparently back for Jan 1st, so maybe him on the left and freddie on the right, but if not Painstill didnt do to bad today so he would get the place. Losing Scotty and Nobby for the game is massive blow and with them two missing I cant see us getting much from the game :(

Prediction : 2-0

I really dont give 2 shits who is back as long as atleast 1 PLAYER is back. Just ONE.

Green
Spector Ferdinand Upson Neill
-----------Mullins--------------------
Pantsil Noble Ljungberg Macca
-----------Cole----------

Bench : Wright Dailly Ashton Camara Quashie

Something like that. Move G-Mac to LW and Neill to left back. Spector to right back and Ljungberg central where he can be more effective. Pants to get his first start in a year. Quashie on the bench as a bit more DCM cover.

Will the Arse fans boo Ljungberg?

Post by Harewood-3.16 »

Given the reception we gave Tevez, what kind of reception will Freddie get on his return. Remember that he had one or two nasty comments before he left about the way things were ran. Will they turn on him or give him a proper cheer. I expect a mixed reaction mainly filled with boos from the Arse fans. Short memories down at the Emirates.
