Watford Announce Sportsbet Shirt Sponsor Deal

Watford FC announced that it has reached an agreement with Coingaming for its sport betting brand, Sportsbet.io, to become the club’s new front of shirt partner from the beginning of the 2019/20 season.

Not only is it the club’s largest ever sponsorship deal but it is the first Premier League shirt front deal signed by a company who are known for their block chain technology and cryptocurrency expertise.

As a club that strives to innovate and do things differently, we are delighted to be working with Sportsbet.io on their first Premier League partnership.

Sportsbet.io have chosen Watford FC to be their only Premier League shirt partner as they push the brand to a global audience. As an indication of the brand’s commitment to collaboration and creativity, we are delighted to reveal that they have changed the colours of their logo to seamlessly integrate with our home kit in 2019/20.

With the company being run by committed sport lovers, this desire to consider the club and the fans will always be at the forefront of Sportsbet.io’s thinking. In this regard, Watford FC will be working closely with Sportsbet.io’s talented team in Estonia to develop activation initiatives in a range of international markets and we look forward to the benefits that this will bring the club over the next 12 months. In particular, Watford FC and Sportsbet.io will work together to launch a number of initiatives that will delight our most ardent supporters.

Spencer Field, Global Strategy & Partnerships Director of Watford FC, said: “This is an important year for the club as we aim to improve on a fantastic season both on and off the pitch in 2018/19.

“Our desire to increase our global reach while continuing to make our fans proud by doing things differently in the Watford way is fully supported by Sportsbet.io.

“We are thrilled to have found a partner that matches our ethos by looking to disrupt the betting industry and offer their customers a fun, fast and fair experience.

Justin Le Brocque, Head of Sportsbook Marketing at Sportsbet.io, said: “The Premier League is the most watched sports league in the world, so we are absolutely delighted to announce a major sponsorship deal with one of its most celebrated teams.

“Like Watford, Sportsbet.io knows no borders in its efforts to bring fun, fast and fair entertainment and excellence to a truly global audience. We are both looking to disrupt more established competitors and need to be creative in the way we approach this challenge.

“We share the club’s desire to combine passion and innovation to reach the top, and we look forward to doing everything we can to support Watford next season and beyond.”

Regarding sponsorship of the Ladies’ team, Justin Le Brocque said “We’re very proud. Equality and diversity is embedded in Sportsbet.io’s ethos, so we’ll be looking to make that message clear as we involve ourselves fully right across the club.”

He added: “It’s exciting to think we can play a supporting role in the success of both of the club’s most senior teams.”

Macron continue to make smart kits. They really try to make an effort with Clubs kits. That Dundee FC one especially is a thing of beauty, I'd be very proud to wear that if I supported them.

When buying our new shirts, do they definitely come with basset gold sponsor or still only for the kits played in by the players? It's not the worst looking, just prefer without.

CNR - I bought the away one this year without the Betway sponsor and it still has the Basset and Gold sponsor on the sleeve.

Ok bit of a shame, but still looks the nuts and sleeve sponsor could be a lot worse.

Yeah would prefer it without but still a stunning shirt. Some really nice detailing from Umbro as well with a Boleyn/crossed hammers symbol on the back and FA Cup with date and match on the inside which is a nice touch. Badge is a proper sewn on job too, haven’t bought one for years so not sure if that’s the norm or not but beats the iron-on-transfer types anyway.

They are stripes mate, just a bit thicker. Take that horrendous sponsor away and it's a good shirt.

Coventry City Announce Hummel Kit Deal

Coventry City announced that hummel will become the clubs official kit manufacturers for the 2019/20 season.

The partnership will see hummel produce bespoke kits each season as well as a range of training wear. As well as the opportunity for bespoke kits, hummel will also be producing replica kits for fans from baby sizes all the way up to 4XL for adults.

Starting from 2019/20, the Sky Blues will work with the Danish sportswear company - who become the Club's Technical Partner - for the next five years until the end of 2023/24 season.

The Club conducted an extensive tender process with 5 offers being received and considered with hummel being chosen as the preferred option.

We are sure the fans will love the design of the new kits featuring the famous hummel chevrons.

Head of Commercial, Tynan Scope said: “We are delighted to announce that hummel will be designing the first team kits and training wear.

“We know from speaking with fans and listening to feedback that the three main aspects they wanted to see from Sky Blues kits were replica kits in baby sizes, larger size choices in adult kits and for kits to be bespoke and unique to CCFC.

“Hummel have certainly delivered on this and we are looking forward to revealing the kits in the coming weeks.”

Founded in 1923, Danish sportswear brand Hummel are one of the oldest team sport brands in the world with an incredible footballing heritage.

The portfolio of clubs wearing the famous hummel chevrons next season will include The Danish National Team, Rangers FC, Middlesbrough FC, Charlton Athletic, SC Freiburg and Real Valladolid.

Pleased to be partnering with Coventry City, Commercial Director of hummel Neil Burke commented; “We are extremely proud to have been chosen as the new Technical Partner. Over the next 5 years we will provide players, staff and most importantly the supporters with an exceptional range of products both on and off the field.”

It will be the first time in 30 years since the club last wore hummel back in the 1987/88 and 1988/89 seasons.

The kit released by hummel back in that time is arguably one of the most iconic Sky Blues kits, with the design based on Denmark’s World Cup 1986 shirt.

Whilst wearing the hummel kit back in 1989, the Sky Blues recorded their second highest ever end of season place, finishing seventh in the old First Division.

Coventry City Chief Executive, Dave Boddy had this to say: “We are delighted to announce that hummel will be our new Technical and Retail Partners.

“The Nike brand has worked well for us over the last 4 seasons but the opportunity to work with hummel, a manufacturer which has heritage and history with the club, is an outstanding opportunity for the club.

“They want to work with the Club, which is important to us and they bring with that an incredible ethos, quality and exceptional retail experience in the UK.

“Hummel were a massive brand in the UK in the late 80’s and early 90’s and were Club partners delivering that iconic shirt from 87 to 89 and have continued to be massive in Europe ever since.

“The brand has been re-invigorated in the UK over the last few years supplying the likes of Glasgow Rangers, Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic and we are delighted to be working with them on what is a long term project and a great commercial deal for the Club.

“I know all supporters will be excited to see the new home and away kits for the new season and we will be bringing these to you shortly.

“Finally, I would like to thank Nike and Just Sport for all their support over the last four years.”

Hummel replaces Nike who have supplied the club’s kit for the past 4 seasons. The club would like to thank Nike for their support during this time.
