That was originally sung for Alberto Aquilani.

Anyone clever enough to do anything with the old Martini advert (Anytime, anyplace, anywhere.......) for Lanzini?

I think Lanzini has had more songs written about him in this thread than the rest of our squad put together!

How about a chant or 2 for some of the fellas being left out?

I don't think Byram, Oxford, Tomkins or Noble have any yet while Cresswell, Obiang and Ogbonna I reckon only have one each!

Lanzini's got to be to the tune of Zambizi (Piranhas), surely?

To the tune of Maneater by Hall and Oates..

Aaaaan-tonio,
watch out boys he'll chew you up,
Aaaaan-tonio,
he's a man-eater

I wouldn't if I were you
I know what he can do
he's deadly man
And he could surely rip your world apart
Mind over matter
Ooh, the beast is there
But a beauty is in the heart

Payet Song

Post by Welling » Sun Feb 21, 2016 11:32 pm

It has been a fantastic day and a fine season so far but............Am I the only West Ham fan that doesn't like this song?

The reasons being......

1. His name is pronounced Pie-ay NO "T"

2. The tune is "Achy Breaky Heart" which is a really bad Line Dancing song

Your thoughts?

Welling

He likes it, and that's good enough for me.

He loves to be loved, that's clear.

Really don't get why it bothers so many of our own, think this is the 2nd thread to dig the song out. At least it gives the masses something to belt out during a game instead of sitting in silence like cardboard cut out bores.

Won't stop be singing it and laughing whenever I see him take the piss on the ball (not to be taken literally).

Are we really getting his name wrong? He's done interviews where he's humbed it, I've heard our own players sing it as Pie-et.

He's literally loving every minute of it, probably gives him the confidence to keep doing what he does on the pitch, the blokes even bowing down to the fans. Long may it continue.

Because his name ain't pronounced PAY-ET and the tune is pants IMO.

It ain't our only song, but if you and others love singing it, then knock yourself out ;)

He certainly doesn't seem to mind hearing it by often bowing to the crowd whenever we sing it to him so why be bothered even if it is sung off tune a bit.

I'm sure you'll be joining in with us all singing it just as out of tune once he scores the winner for us in the Cup Final anyways. :D

His name is correctly pronounced Pay-Et, because that's how it's pronounced in Reunion, where he's from. See " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, for example
