When you watch Noble live, the vision becomes obvious. I'm inclined to agree with some of the other posters though that without the 3 in a 4231 working back then the 2 and the full backs have got no chance.

To help
You dismissed a players skillset as a comparison because you chose to compare records, Juve Vs West Ham. My point, and a valid one, was that players can resemble other, better, players miraculously without echoing their record.
Would you say I am entirely wrong on this?

to compare a bloke who has played for West Ham with zero International caps, 0 titles and 0 CL or WC titles to a bloke that won 6 Serie A titles, 2 CL titles, 119 caps for Italy (not Northern Ireland) and won a W.C.

well to be honest is purely nonsense.

so yes you are entirely wrong.

you are entitled to your opinion of course. but it a ridiculous comparison.

I don’t think its fair to take what Pirlo achieved at some of the best clubs in the world compared to what noble has achieved at West Ham. Look what lampard achieved at Chelsea - what would have have achieved had he stayed. What would noble have achieved at Chelsea. I’m sure we’ve had some pony players leave us and go on to win something.

I was watching a park game the other day. A lad was playing up front, like Shearer used to, celebrating the same and everything. A fella was playing in goal, I guess like Fabianski plays in goal. An older chap sat in the middle of the park controlling the game... like Pirlo. It wasn't Pirlo, don't get me wrong, but it was Pirlo's role. And jolly good he was too.

Pirlo is better than Noble. I'll be clear. Thanks for the Wiki evidence but it wasn't needed. I knew it :crest:

if a player is really that good he will move on and play at much better clubs with much better players.

ergo that player will more than likely go on and achieve greater things.

what you cannot deny is that Pirlo played 119 international games for a major world power and won a WC

Noble hasn't made an international appearance.

again, I haven't said he is shyte. far from it. nor do I decry what he has done for our club. you can look at my past posts and see that.

but to mention him alongside Pirlo is plainly silly.

Lampard would have moved on in any event more than likely or perhaps our coaching staff would not have gotten the best out of him - or maybe he wanted to achieve far more than he could ever have done. the fact that he moved when he did maybe accelerated that.

we'll never know.

if we had kept all of the best players we had together with a decent ownership they might never had left and perhaps they would have achieved that greatness with us. but as we have never had great owners with ambition I would suggest not.

In fact the wiki stats only show he's won more, not that he's better!

But Patito... He didn't achieve what Owen did... Do you fancy some stats? Actually, I get it... A similar, if less successful player...

Now, if only...

The only way to know for sure who's better, Pirlo or Noble is a one on one skills challenge. And that's not fair on Pirlo because he's turned 40 this year.

Could you have misunderstood more?
I'll leave this now as I'm slightly tired of explaining the obvious... But finally... I am saying, oh Jesus, someone else explain this to him please.. it cannot be that tricky, unless he fancies another argument? I'm done.

a player who moved to us from Charlton, I suppose because he felt he could do better ? play with better players ? win more ? benefit from better coaching ?

all the above ?
