Living in Canada, I can't spread the news.

But judging by the general consensus of this forum and number of regular match attenders + season ticket holders, there's enough people to make every game an opportunity to highlight the damage these swines have done to our club.

Even if it's just in conversation at the pub, the odd banner and song, handing out flyers etc., there's a real chance to turn the masses. You have my support, as little as that may mean.

I 100% don't blame anyone for believing what they said. No one can really see into the future.
What really did it of course, was them both calling themselves, West Ham fans.

time for them to spend or leave. if they fail to invest now the protests next season will be immense.

I hope they spend and give the team a chance to be successful before they die off !

Glad to be of service Puff...

I too fell for their "we're West Ham fans" lies. I knew they were in it for the money - their sort always are - but I really thought they were also in it for the club. They really should have been because they could have had it all - money for them - admiration from most of us. But no, their greed for personal gain over rode everything including the well being of a club they professed to love.

We should have known. I respect those that did. You can't expect pornographers who have made their money by exploiting countless mothers' daughters and sons to get all nice and worthy late in life. I should have remembered feeling like I'd been disembowled watching us relegated at St Andrews with one or two mates in absolute bits only to see pictures later of Gold and Sullivan smiling. No real West Ham fan would have smiled that afternoon regardless of which football club they owned. So deep in my heart I probably did know - I suppose rather than truly believe them I wanted to believe. Really, really wanted.

Still I have consolation. They will die. Golds' daughters aren't interested. Sullivan's sons aren't made of their father's stuff (whatever else we say about the ****, he's tenacious and resilient) they won't hang around here - they will flounce off ****ing v's and counting the money. We will be rid of the scum.

Bristol - Hugh too on the previous page.

Dave. Great post. I fell for it too, and you're absolutely right about those images from the game at Birmingham, inexcusable for any Hammer to be smiling, dreadful.

I understand all the vitriol aimed at the Dave's, clearly there have been exaggerations and lies, duplicity and narcissism but what we have to accept is that football is a business and a filthy one at that.

Owners of all clubs are only in it to make money at best and break even at worst, it's not a hobby where they will just throw money around willy nilly, even Man City have an ROI on their extreme spending habits.

So the only thing we can ask for is owners who appear to put the club rather than themselves first as they seek to line their own pockets.

Yes. Doesn't sound an awful lot like Sullivan, sadly.

This sort of thing gets said as if some of us need telling. We don’t. I get that modern football is **** in comparison to the game it still was when I first fell in love with both it and West Ham. I also fully understand that most owners are utter ****ers. But our owners are up with the absolute worst of them - they really are. They are part of that ‘movement’ that has ruined the game and I’ll **** them off until my dying breath. .

No problem at all with fair profit being made by owners of any business that is earned from fair trading practices. I have a big problem when it is earned otherwise.

Made me laugh seeing Sullivan recently being brought to account by HMRC, that was always one of the sly little digs they would come out with against the likes of Joe Lewis, how they paid their UK taxes blah blah.

Great post Dave, I will also be glad once they are gone, either by selling in their lifetime or by buying the farm one day (or will they be renting the farm too ?).
It's nice to see more and more fans wising up to their bullcrap.
West Ham fans they are not. They don't necessarily have to be either in order to be good custodians of the club in business terms.

Yet it could be argued that their decisions, especially in terms of the stadium, have been to the long term detriment of our club as it keeps us from benefitting from things like naming rights, full catering income, making it a stadium that actually feels like a West Ham stadium.

Every decision of theirs is focused on the question:
“What's in it for me financially?“

They are using West Ham as a cash cow and a pension pot. How could a football club ever expect success on the pitch being used like this ?
They are keeping the club down. Just so they become even richer at their ripe old age.

What's the saying ? You can't take it with you.
All the lies and razzle dazzle to bump up their kids' inheritance packet... :crest:

Well said Dave I felt the same way, I think most of us are well aware that this is not a charity and most of what is said in discussion is taking that as a given. I think that keep referring to it every post we make would be both boring and pointless and take the arguments that follow away from the actual discussion within that known Universe.

What happens as and when the Daughters gets Golds shares. They will want out after a 'respectful' period. No idea if there are any agreements in place with Sullivan but it will be interesting to see if they (all or in part) go to him at some stage or (one presumes in preference to them) sold off to the highest bidder or in some 'understanding' even with Tripp who knows. Despite still being in a minority a powerful institution/shareholder could make life very tough for Sullivan I suspect if their influence is very considerable outside of the club. But hey ho probably wishful thinking.

Sullivan will be 70 next year. He doesn't strike me as a man who could still run the London Marathon in his Russian hat. Running a PL club takes time and is highly stressful.
In that respect he will either have to start delegating the day to day running of the club to other people (unlikely) or the tasks of running West Ham will take further toll on his health and he will bust a vessel eventually.

There is no way Sullivan will still pull the strings five years from now. At least not in the manner he is doing today...

I don't think he'll make old bones. Think he will pop it on his 70's
