Pedro Obiang

Post by stu1 » Mon Aug 10, 2015 8:10 pm

Anyone know what the latest on his injury is?

Would I be right in saying he hasn't played a minute of pre-season?

He came back today, but Barton stubbed a cigarette in his eye. At least that's what I've read in the transfer thread.

Apparently he is on his way back, by next week.

As a fan of Samp aswell, I am looking forward to him playing, as he is quality. Another one who will rack up the cards for us though. :D.

No, he played 61 mins against Peterborough before he got injured.

How would you rate him against our current midfield options?

Would you expect him to play the DM role or more box to box like Kouyate?

Probably the worst gag I've read on here in a long time.

Saying that though, it's a good job Raheem Sterling isn't at West Ham... 8-)

TPP...

Get yourself in the Zarate thread . 1 down 24 to go.

Stu...

I do think he is similar to Kouyate. He does like to get forward aswell. So yeah, I would say box to box for sure, but I'd expect us to use him as a DM, if we don't have Song for example. He's also very good physically like Kouyate. For someone of his age, his strength and physical attributes are very good. He has been playing in the Samp first team for a while (since about 18/19).

As I say, expect a few bookings from him, as he will get stuck in, and has the tendency to be rash, but the fans will love him for it. He's another one though, that as he develops and fulfils his potential, the price tag will be made to look a joke.

I've seen before you've made reference the low price. Is there some reason for this, was he in his last year of his contract or something?

If we get Song as well our centre midfield options are looking extremely strong. A midfield of Payet, Kouyate, Song and Obiang/Noble must have the quality to push for a top 8 finish.

With injuries coming sooner or later we will be very happy to have him on board.
