The wrap
Just getting this out into the public domain in case he deletes my email and claims the idea as his own
-------
Attn: Ian Tompkins - Brilliant Public Relations idea
Hi Ian
Opportunity:
The government has withdrawn funding for the wrap and it is reflecting very badly on them . . . I imagine we HAVE to get a wrap at some point.
Solution:
West Ham provides the wrap in time for the Olympics and we get a lot of good press, plus our colour scheme will be subtly imprinted on the minds of all the viewers.
Thank me later . . . . (by way of a free Season Ticket)
Regards

-------
It is worth considering how the wrap is installed . . . . looking at the picture of the 'test wrap' I can just imagine some chavvy Hull City supporter will love slicing through it.
I think we'll have to have a solid wall installed with the wrap attached to the top of it.
Same concern for the roof as well.

Re: The wrap
To paraphrase Frankie Boyle slightly a wrap with the words "**** off Tottenham" in twenty foot high letters would be good value

Re: The wrap
There were articles a while back that private funding had been supplied for the wrap and plans for it to be done were back on
Nice try though!

I'm so out of the loop
We'll still need to mount ours up on top of a wall though.
Re: The wrap
Not quite there have been expressions of interest in funding the wrap so a tender process has been opened, it closes on Friday, still time to to get a bid in :lol:HammerMan2004 wrote:There were articles a while back that private funding had been supplied for the wrap and plans for it to be done were back on

Re: The wrap
You've got to wonder....if the stadium is open apart from the wrap...what's to stop people just squeezing through the wrap into the ground without showing a ticket?
Also, it'll be ****ing freezing at times.

Wouldn't surprise me if the turnstiles are on the bridges over the shark infested moatHammerMan2004 wrote:You've got to wonder....if the stadium is open apart from the wrap...what's to stop people just squeezing through the wrap into the ground without showing a ticket?

Re: The wrap
Get a sponsor's logo on it and we won't have to pay a penny.the pink palermo wrote:I'd rather spend the £7m on a striker .
We need all the money to ensure we have Retractable Seating on all 4 sides of the pitch.
Re: The wrap
This would not be put in place until post-Olympics, as Olympic rules prohibit branding in venues.WestHamIFC wrote:Get a sponsor's logo on it and we won't have to pay a penny.

Re: The wrap
As the deicion has now been ratified is it not worth investigating the cost of a reversable wrap.
Surely it can't be double the cost to produce the Olympic wrap with a Claret and Blue backing which we can reverse after the end of the games ?

Re: The wrap
Gotta be a montage all the way round of the history of West Ham, from Thames Iron Works, White Horse Final, Fa Cup win, European Cup win, Boys of 66, Boys of 86, Tomas Repka  and so on to the present day right the way round the stadium.
