Optimistic percentage...

He needs coaching about positional play when we're in possession imo. Often he's a yard in the wrong direction making him unavailable for a pass or at the very least making the pass difficult/unappealing and placing him under pressure when he receives the ball. Hopefully Moyes will do that as that'll take him, if not us, to the next level.

His next appearance, presumably Southampton at the weekend, will be his 100th for the first team. :crest:

That is a bit of a worry when you factor in that he seems to be 'besties' with Mason Mount, he was a Chelsea fan as a lad and his idol is/was John Terry... can only hope that them rejecting him as a kid has put him off them enough.

if chelsea want him and are happy to pay what we ask (which will probably be a knockdown rate given how this season has gone) then there's no chance he'll stay here.

Why would we sell one of our best players at a knockdown rate?!?

That said, if we did sell him to Chelsea, getting cash plus Ross Barkley would seem a good deal. Barkley has lots of potential.

Barkley would hardly agree to sign for us, in some kind of making weight swap deal.

At his age it's mostly been wasted.

He's not that old. He just needs a coach who will put some faith in him, and who will coach him to be a bit smarter on the field.

He's a talented player, but has a litany of crucial errors behind him under different coaches. You can't coach that out.

Boyhood club isn't it? I'd wish him all the very best.

Now to get a decent price....

At this point in time it is almost impossible to know which players will be playing where when football starts up again

It wouldn't surprise me if Declan Rice has already played his last game for us

despite all the talk about championship clubs having to accept reduced prices for players unfortunately I think west ham will be in the same boat and Declan may well be a casualty
by their own actions west ham allegedly don't have cash rich wealthy owners
those clubs that do will be in the driving seat
to recap west ham rely on a loan every spring/summer and that money may not be so easily forthcoming this spring/summer and coupled with the delay in receipt of season ticket money all point to a financial sh*tstorm coming with the resultant sale of players for less than we expect in return for full upfront payment rather than the usual staggered payments

If they do restart this season there's no way there can be any transfer activity first.... is there?

Young full England international? That's at least £70m please.

Wouldn't be interested in a player plus cash deal unless Tomari or Abraham were available.

He's going to be disappointed then.

He was going to be Sullivan's transfer kitty for the summer, they way things are going he'll be the money the owners pay themselves in loan repayments.

If Rice isn't sold this summer, he'll be the next one. Given how mediocre/**** we are, why would any player who can be playing for league and cup glory want to stay at ours?

We go down it's a certainty. After Lamps, Cole and Johnson it'll be a killer if he's parading his skills over the Bridge.
