With world cups having 48 teams in them soon this will have more players choosing nations of grandparents etc.....

Such a poor decision and one again which is all about money. Going to be some shocking teams in the WC.

The only scoring action he's likely to be involved in would be letting his man glide behind him for a free shot inside the box. If he gets any game time, lets hope manages the track the runners coming from deep. I don't see anything special defensively in Rice(I'm maintaining my stance that he's an error-a-game player), but he does have the makings of a holding(not defensive) midfielder. He has the passing range for that.

he is 19 and will make mistakes but has potential to be really good. I see a future west ham captain in him myself. needs to sort his nationality thing out, sign a new contract which he deserves and get in our team and stay in it.

be good if he could get in the midfield as we would have two young players in the team him and diop.

For those too young to have seen the late, great Bobby Moore, that performance this afternoon, was just like watching the master himself and it was

Wouldn't be long before he could get in the England squad ahead of Eric Dier.

Very impressed with him today. His awareness is also very good. One of his tackles where he won the ball as clean as you like, and was in such control that he could pass the ball to one of ours with ease within a second or two. Him and Obiang were fantastic today.

My man of the match today. This kid is class. Outstanding ball winner and so adept and retaining possession once he’s won the ball. I do think playing him as a holding midfielder plays to his strengths at the moment and perhaps keeps any potential errors of his out the spotlight as opposed to centre back.

Long may it continue. :crest:

Man of the match today. Broke up play and used the ball inteligently, whilst covering the defence brilliantly.

The England assistant manager was at the game today, according to the commentators on my stream.

Closer to home, another performance or two like today's will put up the price of his new contract ;)

He has to start every game now, especially under this system.

He's the next Kante/ Keane/Deschamp.

The boys class.

Noble, Sanchez, Wilshere and Obiang to fight out the other two positions.

What are you on? Yes he's made a few mistakes but he's also been miles better than the senior defensive players on a whole. He was class again today, if he keeps progressing I maintain what I said last season that he could become world class.
