If I could just do aways I'd be happy, if they stop me doing regular aways then there's nothing left.
You and me both Phil.

TBH looking at some of these predictions I'm virtually gone already (15pts), although I may make it the odd snowy midweek trek up north.

There used to be one, Jason (forget his surname) -- he was easily contactable & very helpful (so presumably he was culled by Her Bradyship as part of her away support cleansing program)

My name is also Mike so I'll field this.

I say this as someone who really couldn't care less about the ballot or the method that people apply for/buy tickets. However given the issues that come up again and again for those that do care, it seems pretty simple to be honest.

1) Drop the ballot. It's well intentioned but causes more issues than it fixes.

2) Drop the process of people logging on at set times to buy based on points and go back to a form that has to be in by x date. Setting that up to be a totally online process *should* be a piece of piss.

thx for this --im not sure your chelsea and arsenal are correct -both went for much higher % numbers last year?

Last season when Arsenal went on sale the maximum points you could have was 27. It sold out at 14. Therefore you needed 52% of the max points available to buy a ticket. I reckon points needed will rise by about 15% for that particular fixture, hence the prediction of needing 67% of the max available to get a ticket.

When Chelsea went on sale you could have had a max of 44. It sold out to 25. That's 57% of the max needed. As it was slightly more popular than Arsenal I have that as going up by 14% on the sliding scale and so I reckon 71% of the max available at the time this season will be needed to get a ticket.

This would appease, if not totally fix, a whole host of issues.

Even if things, both ticket related and in a wider sense, are not run exactly as we would like a dose of transparency, honesty, rationale and a sense that fans are being considered (and perhaps even prioritised) when decisions are taken would make everyone feel a whole lot better.

Shame GSB don't give a flying f*ck about how anyone feels. This is a business. If customers are spending money, then that's enough for them.

Was buying for 4 of us - 1 on 22 and 3 on 21. I waited for this morning so I could buy together and missed out for all of us. The bloke on 22 is particularly savage.

Somehow we are all being shafted.

exactly- Before this tiered sale hour bull****/ballot stuff we could wait and get tickets as a group- now we cant, however more frustratingly, im getting further and further away points wise from a group of lads ive gpne to football with for years- for the sake of one or two matches ....its a complete bull****

Me and my son are now on the same number of points thanks to the policy of dropping points from the season before last....BUT......it's still a massive ball ache when the larger group of us are trying to purchase for an away day.

I guess if those fans supporting the ballot for away games see no problem with the same system being applied to a Cup Final even if it meant they could possibly miss out on a ticket that they would have obtained under the old PP approach, then you can only respect their position.

Personally I feel loyalty should be rewarded and while I totally understand why it is in place I don't believe fans who attend something like 75% of away games should ever miss out to someone who has attended none, if the ballot is in place for all games then surely matches that sell out to high PP should also have a minimum amount of PP's to enter the ballot.

The way ballot is implemented to me is totally flawed and it creates as many problems than it solves, to be honest I don't get how the club see the logic of AST if they feel that the system needs a ballot in place to make it fairer to newbies, it is a total contradiction?

I have tickets for both away games so far so I am not saying this because I have a chip on my shoulder over this but just that I feel the club has created a problem that need not exist unless you believe loyalty in football counts for little these days.

I'm another away supporter with 21 PPs who was unable to get a ticket for the Watford game even though I tried to get one only a minute or so after 9am yesterday. Although I deplore the ballot, am hoping to get a ticket through it. What do I have to do get enter the ballot?

For the first time (due to the T/O screwing up my points total) I have had to enter the ballot, as far as I could tell there was no way to request my Senior ticket, it just defaulted to Adult.
Has anyone been successful in the past & got a ballot ticket price adjusted or is it a premium rate call to sort out ?
Cheers for any info.

Had this myself, first time I've ever missed out and had to enter the ballot. Entered for me and my kids, all 20 points, but it said 3 adults on the application.

Only renewed the past two years because of my points but now even that isn't enough to get me away tickets, I think this is really the beginning of the end for me.

Probably in the minority but I think the ballot is a good idea.

I understand supporters would be gutted about "just" missing out on tickets, being a loyal away supporter for years, etc. I would also get rid of the AST.

100% ballot would be the fairest way. No more PP, no more complaining about PP.

Almost definitely on the wind up.

I also agree the ballot is a good thing, away tickets the last few years have very much become a closed shop so this gives others a chance.

The ballot is here to stay and people need to just get on with it rather than constantly moaning IMO.

So the old boy Kev (moaney old git he is) goes to every distance away game on Hornchurch coaches...you wanna take away from him what he's probably done all his life, with a ****ing ballot

that's fair :thdn:

I don't wanna take anything away from anyone. I'm just saying a 100% ballot would end all the complaining and give all supporters a level playing field in applying for tickets.

where were all these people when you could go to Spurs on 2 points but paying nigh on a ton for adult and child tickets?
Even if you started on zero points when we moved first season it was proved you could earn plenty of points over the first 2 seasons. Yes it's hard on newbies but West Ham United haven't just been invented FFS.

I'll bet most of those who want occasional tickets want Spurs or Brighton rather than Newcastle and Huddersfield.

The ballot has made it worse, no doubt people buying every away ticket to protect their points. I didn't mind missing the 2 AFC Wimbledon games and I didn't try and get tickets for it, but I was seriously ****ed off missing Bournemouth when I'd been at every away game prior to that.
