Lucas Perez - 2nd best striker in Europe (sold for £2m, while we spent £45m on Haller and £8m on Ajeti)..
.. Pelle really does know how to get the best out of his players.

It was obvious that Perez could finish but it was also obvious that he contributed f*** all else to the team.

Now a lot of people can argue that scoring is the be all and end all but overall he wasn't rated by the fans and generally abused when he came on.
Maybe it is the supporters who cant spot a player?

38% of his shots go in.

He's scored 8 goals. 4 of those were penalties

That means he's had 17 shots from open play and scored 4 goals at a conversion rate of 23.5%.

Sebastien Haller has had 22 shots from open play and scored 4 goals at a conversion rate of 18%.

It's not all that different really is it.

So Haller and Ajeti are just like Perez then… but without the goals (and about £50m more expensive)

Ajeti isn't like Perez as he hasn't shown that he can finish yet.
Haller looked an upgrade earlier in the season but now looks as disinterested as Perez and is just starting to get the fans on his back as well.

There's no point pining over Perez – some players just do well in a particular environment, and the trend is undeniable with him that he's a good striker in La Liga.

Scored a hatful there, came to Arsenal and did not much, loaned back to La Liga and did well, only did adequately here (probably the best 'third striker' we've ever had, but his general play made it hard to warm to him), heads back to La Liga and does well again.

He didn't pull up any trees in the claret and blue regardless of the goals he scored here.

He isn't the answer to our problems!

Zaza was a 1 in 3 striker in La Liga...Would we want him back??

I saw this the other day but then read half of his goals are penalties. The fact it includes Alli who has been good for all of three games also discredits it a bit too.

we tend to pay too much in wages to get players to join us who don't really want to. the end result is they don't care and want out when it goes wrong.

I agree that the club is rotten at the moment with the daves and their b !

Probably?.

It's not a coincidence that strikers come here, do poorly, leave and do well, there is a tendency from the owners, and sadly many of the supporters to assume that not scoring is the fault of strikers, when far more often the problem is that we don't create chances. We've cycled strikers and wingers for years and years, but never invest in the center of midfield, so our possession is terrible and we create far too few chances.

Zaza wasn't given a real chance here (started slow and then not given opportunities to avoid the buy clause because our owners are cheap).

Zaza was not cut out for this league he'd take his first touch and before he could plant a foot he'd get knocked off the ball. And when he tried to up his tempo he'd send the ball into space. Not saying he didn't have the ability, he just wasn't suited for it.

As for Pėrez, come on. He was a void space whenever he came on. Scored a few but didn't fit. Looked like he didn't want to fit. It's always seemed to me that Arsenal players that come to West Ham play like they're affronted for having to step down in class. I'm sure that there are exceptions, but that's how it seems to me at any rate.

Both Perez and Hernandez were sold due to their wage, not because the club didn't see their goalscoring abilities.
Let that sink in.
