You will recall that as requested by members we wrote to West Ham asking what had happened to the John Lyall plaque.

Reply received by Hammers United.

Hi Lee,

The Blue Plaque initiative links buildings with notable men and women who have lived or worked in them. The Blue Plaque attached to the Boleyn Ground honouring John Lyall was gifted to John's family by the Club upon moving to London Stadium.
Three leaves of the John Lyall gates are located in the Stadium Store of course. An article was posted on the website at the time they were installed https://www.whufc.com/.../18-march/john ... s-new-home

Kind regards,
Jake.

A member complained to us about Stewards standing in front of him and his friends, obstructing their view of the match. We liaised with the F.S.A. who have taken his complaint up and we hope for a positive outcome.Remember our stewarding initiative is there to help you.

We will be out leafleting before the Arsenal game. Please stop and have a chat with us.Tell us what you think we are doing well and how you think we can do better. If you would like to help leaflet please Email us.-Thank-You.

Eggs and Nuts Great Idea; Over to everyone out there.

Regarding membership, maybe HU could send out a New Year's challenge for every member to get at least one person to sign up.

It is amazing/strange the amount of times I'll get chatting to a fellow Hammer out and about and although, like us, they'll be having a moan about the state of the club and everything West Ham in general, how many of them haven't heard of HU, WHISA, KUMB or any of the others.

Maybe the time is right for us members of these organisations to try and educate and recruit some new blood. Like I said, we only need to get one each.

Good Morning all.

Just to let you know that the FSA.have entered into a formal relationship with Trading Standards enabling them to take advice from them on consumer related issues. In football terms this means terms and conditions on season tickets and ticket exchange systems like at West Ham where you can exchange your ticket in return for 'club cash' which has to be spent by the end of the season (or you lose your money).

Any of our members who think they may benefit from advice please let us know and we will liaise with the FSA.to see if they can help.
If you are not yet a member yet please join by Emailing on membership@hammersunited.com

Thanks.

West Ham are refusing to engage with democratically elected supporters bodies.

You will be aware that Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham has written to Karren Brady on our behalf.

Wes Streeting, MP for Ilford, is also supporting our campaign and wrote to the Minister of State for Sport, Media and Creative Industries on our behalf.

The reply from DCMS is below.

No, that is exactly what it isn't.

The matter has been raised through their own officials to the football authorities and investigate if appropriate. If it's not 'appropriate' Hammers United will be asking why it isn't. Hammers United had already written to the Premier League as suggested.

That reply is all that can be expected at this stage and seems encouraging.

Was never gonna be easy and can’t be expected to happen suddenly.

Everything Hammers United do through the correct channels turns the screw another tiny notch and adds to their credibility and longevity.

Everyone who joins the supporters group helps to strengthen that turn.

So he has referred it to the FSA, who you already referred it to (there is an article about your letter on their website) and suggests contacting the PL.

Like I said, it's a polite "**** off". It's certainly not "another MP on board" with the cause as was suggested earlier by another poster.

So the MP for East Ham and the MP for Ilford have taken an interest and written to Karren Brady and The Department for Digital, Culture Media and Sport is not having 2 MPs onboard?????

However, our officials, as part of their regular discussions with the football authorities and organisations such as the Football Supporters Association, have raised this issue and asked that they are investigated as appropriate.

There's a difference in language there. They've done their job and represented the interests of their constituent to the minimum acceptable level. "They", read someone on their staff, have written an enquiry. What they do with the response when it comes and how easily fobbed off they are will tell you if they are on side or going through the motions.

I'm not digging you out, but it's boilerplate response right now nothing concrete and frankly unless they were fans themselves they aren't going to know the ins and outs of it all. In that position they'll wait for the responses and unless you can create enough noise for them to care they'll ignore it.

I'm not trying to dig you guys out as it seems you're all passionate and have the best intentions, but have Hammers United ever had an election?

Really not sure how much clearer it can be said. The issue is being raised with the football authorities. We are going to just have to wait and see the outcome.
