I posted on twitter -

Is it an iconic carpet. UEFA category 4? World class carpet for a world class stadium? I think I’d rather have the world class players @karren_brady promised us.

Reply from a West Ham fan -

They’re coming. Anderson is the first, Gomez this summer...Rice and Diop too

I sometimes wonder if KUMB exists in a bubble of old gits who hanker after the old days while outside the rest of the fans have the blind faith & enthusiasm that we had when we were 12.

Seriously, Saurdays plans seem like they've been dreamt up by the marketing team after a heavy lunchtime drinking session. They've waddled back to the office, started lobbing paper airplanes at each other then thought "here, can we do to make the club even more of a laughing stock?"

Either that or they're undercover Spurs fans.

Honestly, it's like planning a street party to celebrate the fact you've eventually bought some carpet tiles.

Where as Spurs built a state of the art ground for a billion pounds we are larging up a carpet to cover an athletics track. A perfect epitaph to the reign of Sullivan, gold and Brady.

Genuinely fail to understand why people renew their ST's when this nonsense goes on.

We've got carpet. Claret carpet.
I just can't bear to see the track.
The best that money can buy.
It makes me want to cry.
We've got claret carpet.

Like that HM2004

But prefer this one.

We've got Car-pettt,
Cla-ret Car-pettt
I just don't think you understand,
Delivered by a man
In a transit van,
We've got Cla-ret Car-pettt....
...altogether now...

50,000 singing that just after "bubbles" would make me chuckle!!!!

I’m quite pleased the carpet has been sorted and from the initial pictures it looks good - although will reserve full judgement until I’m there in person on Saturday. Anything which helps “West Ham-ify the stadium might help it feel more like home in the long run.

However there should be no big celebration because of it.

3 seasons to get some fuzzy felt laid and our owners want to celebrate as if they have worked a miracle Here's an idea, just get it laid over night and keep your gob shut rather than herald it a the saviour to all our miss givings. Maybe if everything promised when people were completing the flawed and biased survey was in place from day 1 we wouldn't have to be subjected to this crass PR bollox which just leaves us open to ridicule.
If it had taken me 3 years to get carpet laid in my new gaff I don't think the wife would be celebrating and trumpeting my acheivments to her mates unlike Baroness Shagpile of Axminster.

I’m in the camp that says I don’t want to talk about that mob from n17 and their wonderful purpose built stadium stadium (it’s still full of absolute knobheads - are well still allowed to say that :D ) BUT for some Perspective when some of you on here and and plenty on social media say what a great job GSB have done I would ask you watch these videos they produced about the move to the stadium

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Whenever I start to doubt my sanity about the bolloxs fellow fans spout about what a good GsB have done I remind myself how easy it is to forget what we were told would happen and what actually transpired

Can’t believe how many people are satisfied with some carpet which looks like the running track without lines and the bastardised club crest which was only changed so that West Ham could Trademark it

A healthy dose of scepticism is required amongst the gullible but just looking at society tells me that is never going to happen

How far we have fallen as a fan base since the days of the bond protest and I’m a bloody bondholder

I really must be an old git as i hanker for the bond protest days when fans were not customers (not that we are treated with the service that word implies) and that some of my fellow fans had some gonads to stand up to the bolloxs

Rant over back to lurking
