Unfortunately there are some out there who cling to the Socios twitter account like sh*t hanging out of a sheep and in other social media places who actually think this is a good idea. Worrying really that anyone thinks you should pay for the privilege of engaging as a fan with your team.

utter rubbish and should be avoided at all costs. The only engagement I do is support the team and shout abuse at the board !

you must be a fool to buy into this. its there for one reason only, to make money for them.

avoid

Also, just looked into something the Socios CEO highlighted in another tweet. The Sacramento Kings NBA team have a game app called Call The Shot:
The Kings developed the game with technology company Xperial (who are also working with NFL team the New York Jets on a similar in-game prediction app). “Call the Shot” allows fans to make real-time predictions from the app before and during games and play to win in-app credits that can be exchanged for in-app prizes, which include hotel stays, merchandise, game tickets, fan experiences and more. The game is only available via the Sacramento Kings + Golden 1 Center app, which is free to download, and can be played either at the King’s Golden 1 Center arena or from home. Additional gaming options and extra credits are available to those who play in the arena. A key feature of the new version, and what brings the game into the sports betting sphere, is that fans can now place bets using hypothetical coins on different statistical outcomes during a game, for example who will be the Kings’ top scorer during a quarter or during the game as a whole.

Reason I mention this?

Sacramento Kings Launches Blockchain Token for Its Predictive Gaming App
The Sacramento Kings partnered with New Jersey-based blockchain ticketing platform Blockparty to add blockchain-based rewards to its prediction game Call the Shot, the team officially announced on Oct. 7. According to the announcement, the new program will be available in the upcoming 2019–2020 season.

During the season, Blockparty will be tracking Kings fans’ activity while they are betting on Call the Shot — and players will be able to accumulate points in a virtual wallet within the Sacramento Kings + Golden 1 Center app.
The new token will have no monetary value
While enrollment in the program is free, the rewards can be redeemed for prizes and unique events such as signed merchandise and courtside tickets. The Kings noted that the tokens have no monetary value and cannot be transferred.

Vivek Ranadivé, CEO and chairman at Sacramento Kings, said the team has only just begun to see the benefits of blockchain technology as “it transforms the way business is conducted worldwide, ensuring secure transactions across multiple sectors and customers.”

Free in the app already offered and those who play potentially get rewards with no personal financial investment.

The Kings have an app developed where people play by predicting things that happen or not in their basketball matches.

They are now offering tokens in this game via a kind of online platform that Socios are also going to use. The Kings is free and rewards those who use the app, Socios will offer one or two for free and actively want people to spend their money.

Kings tokens have no value, West Ham tokens can only be cashed in on a cyrpto currency where the value can go up or down.

Sport, the fast way to popularize blockchain
Socios.com joins clubs like Atlético, PSG or Juventus to extend this technology.

Blockchain-based technology has the capacity to flood all aspects of everyday life and is called to be the new Internet. Through the Socios.com platform , the Mediarex Group company has already begun to popularize its use in the football industry, although the vast majority of fans do not quite understand how it works or exactly what it is.

"The blockchain remains relatively unknown because people adapting new technologies Mobile phones gradually took nearly two decades to become popular;. Internet , three , " he explained in an interview with EXPANSIÓN Alexandre Dreyfus , CEO and Socios.com The Chiliz platform , provider of blockchain and cryptocurrency services that bears the same name. "That our business is based on blockchain is irrelevant. Technology must be as discreet as possible in order to maximize the user experience . The WIFI networkIt is fully integrated into our day to day, although not everyone knows how it works. We believe that the blockchain has the same potential. "
Socios.com will market Atleti fan tokens at a price of 2 euros . When buying these digital assets , what the fan acquires are rights to vote and influence the decisions of his club . In return, you will be rewarded withpromotions, raffles and exclusive experiences , "from watching a match in the VIP box of Socios.com, to playing a game in the Metropolitan."

It is a win-win model that satisfies all parties. The fans win to interact directly with your team , the club better and monetizing their audience globally and blockchain popularized the fast lane. "The formula to educate people in new technologies is to accustom them to using them and that is what we are doing. Through Socios.com and our associations with top clubs like Atlético we expect millions of people to start using the blockchain without necessarily knowing that they are using it . "
How does it work?

Socios.com is a mobile application of blockchain technology where the fan acquires voting rights in the management of his team by buying fan tokens . The digital assets of each team are limited in number and interchangeable , and their value varies with the market. "The token fan is not a currency as such, but an asset that gives its holder the right to access a voting platform and win prizes and experiences. In the initial offer or Fan Token Offering (FTO) the price of tokens s will be fixed and will be shown in fiat currency (euros) and inChiliz . As in any other digital currency, Chiliz's value will fluctuate depending on the market, "Dreyfus explains.

The app will allow fans to trade with their team tokens in a market where they will operate with the Chiliz cryptocurrency. "The marketplace of Socios.com will be launched in 2020 and will be the only means to buy digital assets of a team, in case they have not been able to acquire in the initial offer. It is similar to eBay , the only difference is that all transactions will be made with Chiliz instead of euros. It's another of the gamification methods we offer. "

Socios.com is a dua l project . It is a platform to promote the digital transformation of football clubs , and at the same time, a means to popularize the use of blockchain through the king sport. "We seek to innovate in the sports industry through digitalization, bringing fans from all over the world closer to their teams and at the same time, allowing clubs to create new digital tools. We use the fan as a way to bring the integration of the blockchain technology to the mass . "

Keys
· Fan tokens are not a currency , so they are not spent.

· Fans can buy fan tokens through Socios.com or 'hunt' them for free with the geolocation tool with augmented reality, named Token Hunt.

· In the future you can earn points as a reward for interacting with your club . It will be through a Leaderboard tool .

· Reward points may be exchanged for experiences or exclusive merchandising .

5 Reasons Why You Should Use Socios.Com

Influence your team

There is nothing more thrilling than cheering your club to victory, nothing more devastating than witnessing a crushing defeat, and nothing more unifying than the beautiful game of football. But what if you could take your passion one step further, putting you – the fan – at the heart of your club, with the power to influence decision-making? With Socios.com, clubs will seek your opinion, and they’ll listen to your voice. This is your chance to be heard and make a difference.

Be the First

Now, for the first time, fans from across the globe can interact directly with their clubs and vote on club matters. Plus, you’ll be the first to know when clubs are looking to make a change or are seeking input from fans.

Real Decisions. Real Votes.

Your opinion matters. There are two types of polls on Socios.com – binding and non-binding. With binding polls, clubs are obliged to honor the result. All votes are made using seamless blockchain technology, which means that votes can’t be erased or changed once made.

Join the Super Fans

In joining Socios.com, you’ll join a global community of football fans who share your passion for the beautiful game. As part of this community, you can use your digital Fan Tokens to vote and influence decision-making. Fan Tokens are limited in number, so be sure to get in there early to secure your right to vote.

Super Fan = Super Access

As a supercharged fan, you’ll have the opportunity to access VIP experiences, exclusive events and much more. The more you vote on polls and interact with the app, the more access you’ll have.

Well, I'm not sure I'd necessarily agree with that... :)

Would be good to see the sign-up numbers for this.
