Nathan Holland

Nathan Holland has extended his contract until 2022, he must be quite highly thought of.

Hope to see more of him next season.

Was expecting/hoping he'd make the first-team breakthrough this season. Hopefully there's a real player in there though. Let's see if he can kick on next year and congrats Nathan.

This season is almost make or break for him. We've been hearing nearly the past 2 years he is one of the best youngsters and he should be pushing for a 1st team place. But every time he gets close he happens to pick up an injury.

Hopefully he won't become another of our many injury prone players. But he will be 21 from the start of next season so he needs to start at least being involved in Cup games and having a place on the bench in League matches every now and then.

Hopefully he will make it as I really like the look of what I have seen from him in the u23s and has the real makings of a future fan favourite

According to Ex he was ahead of Diangana, but got injured before the Macclesfield game.

From what I've seen of him he looks useful, so hopefully he'll get a bit of toime on the next couple of games and then push on in pre-season.

Rice
Diangana
Johnson
Holland

The new crop of modern Academy graduates with genuine Premier League quality in the making? It's looking more and more likely.

Get him out on loan somewhere next season and let's see what he can do.

Can help some players develop but it's not always the case and setikes it's best they stay in-house close to the management, training regularly with seasoned Premier League players. It's certainly added the development of Rice, Diangana and Johnson who none of them have needed to go out on loan.

I trust Pellegrini to make the right call either way.

It's good to see the youngster coming through. Definitely something we should focus on as a club.

My highlight for the season is the way the youngsters are coming through. Real quality too.

Would be a really good opportunity to play Ben Johnson at Right Back from the start at home in a game without much pressure in a problem area we need solving long term. Can he follow up his very promising performance against the Champions elect?

21 today and many happy returns. Though one senses this might be his make-or-break season at WHUFC.

I have a feeling we'll loan him out. I can't see Pellers squeezing him in over Anderson, Antonio, Yarmalenko, Snodgrass etc.

He certainly needs to toughen up and cut out the injuries as he always seems to pick up an injury whenever he gets close to being given a chance in a Cup game.

I really hope he does well and makes the break through. But I have a feeling this will be his last season with us.

Starting to have misgivings about this policy.

Surely the idea must be to sprinkle 3 or 4 young players amongst the first team squads over the course of a season. The premier league is, after all, where we want them to ply their trade.

Had we given Reece Oxford an extended run in the side would he have adapted and gained consistency of performance?

tend to agree give our best younger players the opportunities in cup games and subs .
the likes of johnson silva Holland Coventry powell browne
not sure of what the point is of going out on loan to a chesterfield at 21 is. give them all until January and then reassessed their worth to the first team squad of WHU.

Both loans and remaining with the senior team can work. The matter of loans is whether players go to the right clubs. I think it is simply a matter of our youths haven't been that good in recent times. As fans we all seem to buy into hype rather easily, whether it be a transfer target or a youth prospect.

We all moan that we don't take the cup games seriously enough. Playing the kids would be a big risk. If we had Aguero, Silva, Sterling and De Bruyne then sure I am certain we could play Trott and half a dozen other youths but we showed last time that we can't really show that level of complacency with our squad without getting punished. Pellegrini gave Diagana and Johnson chances when nobody outside the management really expected. I am sure he will make the correct decision. Maybe it is even a question of some players pushing for loan moves. I am sure Marcus Browne wanted to play more first team football.

I know it's only U23's etc. but this lad is looking decent, scored a couple of nice goals, the one last night and the beauty against Brentford. Hope he gets his chance in the first team soon.

he must be moving up the order now that diagana is on loan at west brom and Antonio is out until new year. I wonder if he will squeeze onto the bench on Monday night.
