Oh good. Another moneybags club to disappear off over the horizon over the next couple of years.

I guess the long suffering Toon deserve it more than most. Then again, I used to think that about Man City, but now they piss me off too.

I wonder what GSB make of the valuation considering Newcastle actually own their 55k capacity stadium.

Also with the talks of this takeover and the rumours of the Leeds takeover and we all know what's happened at City I guess the London thing isn't such a draw after all.

Ironically, more Arab owners in the Premier League will make it all more competitive as they'll be more starting from the same financial position.

If you had all the money in the World like these rich Arabs and wanted to buy an English football club, would you want to buy West Ham United?

Why buy a club who does not even own their own stadium, a stadium that is not a purpose built stadium and a stadium that many fans hate with a passion.

No, nor me, clubs such as Newcastle are a much better proposition.

Nice one GSB.

This may not seem as far fetched as it sounds, but is there not a possibility that Arabs wouldn't want to deal with Gold and Sullivan because of their somewhat nefarious past in the sex/porn industry and The Arabs religious beliefs?

Actually that sounds far from far fetched.

The money in the clubs though is employing yourself and friends on massive wages and loaning the club massive amount with tons of interest, that's how they make money out the clubs

Winning isn't seen as trophies anymore though it's winning as a business

Spend some time in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and you will see that those beliefs are not a strong as they would like to make out. In fact you don't have to go that far...West End in the summer months.

There has to be some reason as to why we're not attracting the likes of these people. regardless of what we think as fans about the stadium, I don't by this caper of 'nobody will want to buy us because we don't own our own ground'.

Er, hello, we pay £3 million a year (with the extra capacity) for a 60,000 possibly 66,000 capacity ground, with no outlay on the upkeep and associated costs of running our own ground.

From a business point of view, for somebody buying us, that's a massive carrot in itself!

We have a huge fan-base, we sell nigh on all the tickets for home matches, we have history, and we are really the definitive 'sleeping giant'.

Run right with proper investment, we're ripe for a buy-out - yet for some (or 3) reason, we're being given a wide berth.

Either G&S have put too high a price on us (surely someone has asked them the question) or, nobody wants anything to do with the mob that own us.

Personally, I think it may be a combination of both.

That's as may be - 16th or 17th is enough for GSB.
