Looking forward to this.

Four WHU players present to keep an eye on.

Ria Percival (New Zealand)
Jane Ross (Scotland)
Adriana Leon (Canada)
Cho So-Hyun (South Korea)

England games are:
Scotland (9th June 5pm)
Argentina (14th June 8pm)
Japan (19th June 8pm)

Given all the hype over the last four years since the bronze medals on 2015, I think England need semi finals minimum.

Disappointing result for England in the last warm-up game, but I guess it's all about hitting form at the right times during a tournament.

Looking forward to it. Particularly England's opener sitting nicely between the Nations League matches on Sunday. Two England matches on the same day!

The tournament will also be a first chance to see the new laws in action...

I'm off out to France next week with my wife and two daughters. We're having 5 nights camping in Normandy and then catching two games in Le Havre - New Zealand vs Netherlands, and then England vs Argentina. Really looking forward to both the games.

After watching the FA Cup Final i'm not sure i can suffer any more women's football. Why are the Goalkeepers so bad? :?

Anyway good luck to them. Maybe i'll dip a toe in if we get to the semi finals.

Guess you hadn't seen it Rio!
It had fallen off the first page..

Tbh, I'm f*cking bored already. What with Dion giving his 'expert' analysis, I'll probably just stick to watching the England games. Not that keen on whosis that used to do the robots either.

Sorted now

The tournament isn’t going to spark until the knockout phase. Too large a discrepancy in talent still in these group stages

The VAR decision in that game just made me cringe. Luckily it never affected the result.

Being England, semi finals maximum, probably losing controversially on penalties to our old adversaries, Germany

I enjoyed that game last night. Great goals.

In my life it's gone from Miss World to Miss World Cup, and rightly so.

China v Germany has been pretty good so far. Fairly physical game. The Chinese crowd only have one chant, either Zhong Guo Jia You or Jia You Zhong Guo. The men's game has better songs but I suppose they'll catch up.

Partly related, but I wish the BBC would have the sense to give the women’s game its own area on the sport site. and that’s not because I don’t have respect for those playing it, or don’t watch a few games when they’re on.

It’s because I couldn’t give a toss about any news related to women’s football.

Their football front page is obsessed and bait for misogynistic comments.

Physical? :|

I thought the ref was an absolute disgrace. The Chinese kicked the German girls in the face, stepped on them, lunged into tackles without being close to the ball...

They got away with most without warnings...

I had a look at the BBC football web page to see what it contained.

As well as the Women's world cup articles, I saw articles on

Hazard, Sarri, Wales, Scotland. Mesut Ozil's wedding, Republic of Ireland. I have no interest whatsoever in any of those articles. So guess what, I didn't click on them. Easy I thought?

We are in the close season, little going on especially once the games tomorrow are over so it is natural that a football world cup is going to be used to fill the space,

It is indeed natural that a football World Cup should get that space, unrelated to gender.

But that’s not & wasn’t my point. My point is that their constant obsession with flooding the Football page with the women’s game, despite the audience size in comparison to, let’s say, championship football & its teams, is bait for the endless misogynistic HYS comments.

I did put in the caveat of it only being slightly related to what is a period where it’s understandable the women’s game would be getting more focus on the site, but my point was it’s consistently the case, and it would be better and healthier for the growth of the women’s game IF they launched a microsite for it.

I should point out Kialos, as Big George knows, I worked for the Beeb including their Sport sites for many years. It wasn’t so much a criticism of something I’m not interested in, more a comment on how they could do a better job for those who are.

Anyway it’s all massively off topic - looking forward to watching the England team tomorrow - be interesting to see if the sweaties play with a lack of expectancy and cause an upset
