I'm fairly "black and white" when it comes to decision making, but I really can't say yes or no - he could be a hero and possibly a Hammers legend, or he could get an injury and disrupt the camp in the way that Arnie has.
On the basis we are in the best place we have been in for years: good manager, decent looking squad, attractive football I think "if it ain't broke don't fix it" - so it's a no for me - Moody French Twat

Footballs all about entertainment. - Dimi certainly did that.

why would we go back to a 32 year old player who sometimes disappeared in matches and will be even slower? No. I'd rather we spent on younger players thanks.

Just wait until Dimi curls in a free kick, runs towards the corner flag, slides on his knees, then gives that salute.
They'll come round quicker that CNR does when he knows there's a rat waiting for him.
I doubt many of the people saying no think he's finished, or even think he wouldn't provide moments like that, for 6 - 18 months. The problem is if/when he thinks something "better" is on for him and he spits the dummy fractures the dressing room and tanks our season.
You can well imagine that once he hits 33 a Chinese club speaking to his agent 300k a week to come an light it up over there for a year or two, in January, low fee offer, we don't have a replacement lined up for the money, he spits the dummy, a potential European challenge crashes and burns. It writes itself, and with the number of younger talents we have at the moment it is higher stakes than last time he did it to us.

Our official instagram page just posted a video of him titled "A thing of beauty" then quickly added it was on this day in 2015 that we signed him

Can we bring him on just to take free kicks like they do in the NFL?

They have kicks that they bring players on for don't they?
I must admit my knowledge of American Eggball is shaky at best.

I'd have prefered an "absolutely f*cking not" option myself
He can stay and rot wherever he is

Not sure if trolling...
They have "kickers" who take the "kickoff" and usually take fieldgoal or PAT attempts, basically the same as the kicker for a penalty or after a try in rugby, they just don't come on to the field for any other reason. They normally have someone else who specialises in punts too...

So, you're saying they don't have free kicks.
Agreed.

Just to throw it out there...
From 2015-2017 Payet had these players around him....
Feghouli, Nordtveit, Tore, Fletcher, Calleri, Emenike, Zaza, Jelavic, Zarate
From 2019-2021 Payet could have these players around him...
Arnautovic, Anderson, Fornals, Yarmolenko, Wilshere, Gomez, Rondon
Just saying we wouldn't have to rely on him entirely for everything like we did.

Left out Antonio, Noble and Lanzini because they'd still be here, so add them to both lists if that's the case.
Carroll? Meh. Sakho played 4 times in 2016/2017. Moses went back to Chelsea.

Can I just remind people who mistakenly think Payet was a disruptive influence .. he wasn't.

Yes for me, as long as he doesn’t upset the dressing room.
Best player i’ve seen in a West Ham shirt and i’ve been going since the early sixties.
It’s a fair chance we won’t be challenging for any major honours going by the last few years so the odd five minutes of brilliance will make it worth the entrance fee.
