kane is a good goalscorer but not world class
sterling is maybe world class as does it regularly for club and country.

last proper world class English player Ferdinand.

It’s funny how people see things differently.

Kane’s performances for England have been far far better than sterlings. Sterling has been better recently but regularly criticised for not being the same player for England, many wanted him dropped during the World Cup.

Kane’s performance against Columbia was superb, people seem to have forgot that. He also had the Madrid media creaming themselves over him for his away performance against Spain and also saved us from a very embarrassing result against Scotland recently.

Of the ‘golden generation’ there are strong claims to say Terry, Ferdinand, Campbell, A.Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Owen and Rooney were all world class for parts of their career. Unfortunately you need a team to win things, not just world class players.

I see many claiming Rice will be........he has an astronomical way to go before being world class, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. For instance it’s widely accepted that the England midfield was recently completely bossed by the Dutch and De Jong, whilst Rice was very much part of that midfield.

That's why it's important to stress, Rice will be and isn't right now. In the role he plays, I predict they'll be few better than him, if not amongst the best in the world at what he does. I personally see something very special in the lad thar makes me think he'll go all the way to the top and I don't think it'll take too long in his career to get there.

Those saying that Sterling does it for his country but Kane doesn't need to have a long hard think about what they just said 8-)

I think both need to do it against the top team in the Champions League and World Cup/Euros are at least one of them, to really enter the top bracket, as said at the minute I don't see how Kane isn't exactly or less as a Cavani, Higuain, Manzdukic, Lewandoski, etc

I really don't think Sterling is world class, nor do I think he'd walk into any club on the planet.

There are no world class English players. None.

We had quite a few 15 years ago.

Whilst he did win the Golden Boot, there were a few penalties among them.

Kane and Sterling are recent world class. Neither are better than Gareth Bale.

Off topic a bit but I swear Spurs are the only club who treat pre season friendlies so seriously.

They get invited to the top table tournaments and play like Celtic do when they draw an English club in the Champions League.

Proper small club mentality.

I don’t think that’s particularly fair when you look at the team we picked or many of the subs we used.

Loads of youth players there, more than Juve I'd wager.

I think it's a good tactic personally.

You play Real Madrid, Juve, Barca etc in pre-season, when it comes round to the start of the season Newcastle, West Ham, Sheff U seems a fairly undaunting prospect.

Great player but i wouldn't have him down as 'world class', he never could tackle properly.

And, before anyone thinks otherwise, we do not need any of those Paul Scholes' tackle pictures, again!
