But i’ll Throw in a couple - Ted McDougall, Hilton, the bloke we signed as CB that got crocked in ore/season and I don’t believe ever played a game for us, was our big signing that season. Can’t recall his name.
Simon Webster has been mentioned and was set to become captain too, I also recall Richard Hall signing from Southampton and getting injured almost immediately.

1.CARLOS TEVEZ - The Tevez/Masch coup felt suspect from the off and, although we were ultimately punished for entirely different - and entirely unjust - reasons and none of it was the fault of the player himself, the entire episode just cost us too much; both financially and with regard to our place in the wider publics' affections.
2. Benni McCarthy - A proven top-flight player who simply decided to lay back and take the piss the second he'd signed forms for WHUFC, just when we needed a player of his previous caliber the most. Utter, utter ****.
3. Robbie Keane - See Benni.
4. Patrice Evra - See Robbie.
5. Florin Raducioiu - I remember being really excited about this signing, and hoping that this might be a pivotal point in West Ham's fortunes. Alas, his primary connection to West Ham will now forever be that bloody Harry Redknapp fable about Florin sodding off to Harvey Nicks instead of playing an FA Cup tie.

Dolan (for that jiggy dance he did in front of us when he had his one night :D )
Upson (for bottling it. and not jumping at corners).
Steve Whitton (I know he was a local lad, but never saw him have a good game)

Lee Chapman - I understood the need for a striker, for that kind of striker, but the man was awful as a player, awful as a person and did nothing to disprove that
Mitchell Thomas - things were bad enough at that time and signing Mitchell was the biggest indication that we even then were hopeless, clueless and that the memories of 85/86 were destined to be nothing other than memories.
Edouard Cisse - at a time when the wheels were falling off the club, this fella held the spanner. Abject performance after abject performance and an attitude that stank
Gary Charles - How far detached from his brains had Harry become. Common knowledge that Charles was a somewhat decent player who had more demons inside him than vodka, though he tried to even that balance, but H loves a punt, so it’s ok.
David Speedie - like Robbie Keane without the charm.

ah...eduoard cisse, the man who glided onto a football field , glided around it without hardly ever touching the ball , a catastrophic signing by Roeder

Most of my original 5 have been mentioned several times over, so I'm going a bit left field....

Can’t remember whose testimonial it was but John Terry even wearing a pretend West Ham kit made me feel physically sick :(

Tony Carr's testimonial? Had forgotten about that one, but yes, same feelings here...

From memory Chelsea didn't allow him or Lampard (or Joey Cole) to actually play in the match, so that was something at least.

Jimmy Greaves ...... it's the first time I heard my father swear as in," I can't believe we've swapped Martin Peters for that ****"

Any of those bought with the Rio money for the same reason.

Kieran Dyer. I know it's not his fault he got injured but, ...... FFS!

Andy Carroll ........ the world's only glass brick shithouse.

Gary Breen .... enough said.

We might be brothers. My old man goes on about this most weekends.

Swapped a player years ahead of his time for one who retired 12 months later.

I can only name players who have given me no real positive memories or manage to escape the "bad but funny" category, which is why Roger Johnson won't make my list.

Keane
Hart
Pogatetz
Alou Diarra was awful and a twat
Controversial Frank Lampard jr pick. I don't even care that it's unreasonable, not only do I think he's a swine, but I'm convinced if he'd never played for us, we'd have done better against him as an opponent

I'm surprised there hasn't been any mention of Faubert yet. He was terrible!

Wasn't the same player after his injury. i really liked him. Gave his all. Didn't sulk when had to play as a FB, and most memorably, fell asleep on Real's bench

Has anyone mentioned that arrogant Jock p***k McDougall. Apparently he managed to get up everyone's nose and when Johnny Lyall got shot of him to Norwich his disgusting behaviour when he got the winner against us jumping around in front of Lyall and our bench having a right go. Of course Lyall too much of a gentleman to react. So for me my number one of all time. Of course plenty of others but McDougall a stand-out.
