can it not link directly to the relevant article so one could post about the story directly, instead of tying to find the thread in the GD ?
There isn't always a relevant thread C - if you can't see one feel free to start a new thread and if it's a duplication, a mod will merge the two.

understood Boss..

but in this case there was - wasn't there ?

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=175655

had to look and it was on page 4.....

if there IS a relevant story as in this case, is it possible to link directly or difficult ?

just a question not wishing to be the proverbial pain in the arse (although many on here would say that I am so bloody good at it !!!)

I don't view this on a mobile so I can't tell you if it's good on that but on my 4K TV I use as my PC monitor it's unreadable.

It's too bright, the black on white makes it near impossible to look at for long and I've got a blinding headache now.

Is there anyway for non mobile, normal PC monitor users to go back to that lovely blue we had not so long ago?

I hate to be the only negative comment here as it's clearly a hit on a small screen but a large one it's not so good.

Ah, fantastic! Just copy/paste a twitter or YouTube link straight in - either from your browser or from a dedicated Twitter/YouTube app, and up it comes. Just like proper, modern forums! :scarfer:

Ooh, and Amazon links, too! Swanky.

@ HammerSaints And if you set the fonts to "bold" in your users control panel?

It's not impossible C, but I think it's just as easy for the reader to use the search function at the top of the forum.

The other option is to create a new thread for every news item, but I suspect we'd have a lot of barely-commented-upon threads (and it'd be another thing for me to do - bear in mind for every story/article/match report I already add links to Twitter, Facebook and the KUMB updates thread here in GD, which takes time as it is).

Sounds like a simple case of adjusting your TV's brightness, HS. And probably a little easier than us redesigning the entire site (that, as you have noted, no-one else has reported an issue of this nature with).

You're not using an extra bright mode by perchance? (ie my TV has a football mode which results in a similar blinding headache.)

Good that, isn't it Elsie. We have janus to thank for those.

Have to agree with HammerSanits on this, it's giving me a a bit of an headache reading this on a PC monitor. I think the background colour could be changed, it would make a huge difference. Black on a grey background is not working to me.

The site definitely needed an update, and there looks to be some straightforward clicking involved now, which is good. However, I must agree with the last two posts that the white-grey background is too bright especially with the black type. It makes it difficult to concentrate for long when scrolling down.

Small point. I'd like to see a direct link to the forums from the front page.

There is. About halfway down the page there are direct links to the GD, the Sports Bar and the Music, Film & TV forums:

Also, near the bottom of the page in the "tags" section, click the "forum" tag and you're at the forum index:

Plus of course there's the burger menu near the top of the page which opens up the sidebar menu which houses links to every forum:

Having been on this site for 15? years, this is the best it’s looked in that time.

No problem here with white-grey background being to bright on MacBook Pro, PC monitor, or Playstation with Monitor.
But there is if my PC monitor is set to cinema mode, changed back to standard and all good.

I really like the new site.

We added 3 settings to adjust your personnel font size on pc or/and phone, even bold is possible.

See user control panel => board preferences
ucp.php?i=165
That’s the ticket! I can read it all clearly now. Thank you!

Having read the last post in a topic, I can return to that forum clicking on the link at the bottom. It's there on the desktop, but not on a mobile. I know that you can click on the "Jump to", but if you're on one of the forums that near the bottom of the list it's more scrolling and clicks.

The title of the threads on the General Discussion forum (or any forum really) needs to be differentiated with the “last post by...” better. Right now it’s hard to tel the title of the thread. Bold for the former and small for the latter, might I suggest?
