I will say after the initial shock I had got used to the colour coded quotes and was really beginning to enjoy and rely on them so losing them is a bit disappointing. Overall I can appreciate the modernisation and clean look Whites and greys in themselves don't look too bright or contracting on my iPad, haven't seen it on my computer as yet. Just wonder if the overall low key diferentaion between the various elements on the page will start to blur together as eyes start to tire. Time will tell it always needs a period to Get used to change.

The title of the threads on the General Discussion forum (or any forum really) needs to be differentiated with the “last post by...” better. Right now it’s hard to tel the title of the thread. Bold for the former and small for the latter, might I suggest?
Definitely this. The hierarchy is wrong in regards to this, as the most important information the user wants to see is the title of the thread. The thread creator is secondary.

My advice would be to make bold the thread title, and to have the name of the thread creator and date the same font weighting as the "last posted by" column.

Agree. And think about colour: it is nearly all blue with very little claret at the moment.

Overall it looks good and works well on a phone.

A tiny point: the link to General Discussion in the Testimonial at the bottom of the page doesn’t work.

Sorry but it's a yuk from me.

I much preferred the previous format. I found the claret & blue easier to see and read on a pc.

I'll get used to it but preferred it as it was. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

The old board would be broken very soon, if we didn't do anything
And it is not nice to repair thinks with a lot of stress because the board is offline.
We prefer to things on forehand, you not?

And about the colours, we are looking if we can offer a solution for members who are not happy, please give us some time.

Same  flawlessly converted into sainc that’s much much better - both in terms of UX and GUI

The only thing I miss - and this is almost certainly just me - is forum members individual info appearing with their posts (aka: post count, joined date, etc) - I think the loss of that is strangely a much bigger deal than I first assumed - weirdly depersonalizes members a massive amount and was always a key factor into what made KUMB stand out as being about supporters.

But having run sites since the ark myself, I am aware that this might be a necessary sacrifice for the general (& brilliant) new mobile and tablet experience

Yeah but that’s via a separate link to each individual posters profiles

I’m talking about the users post count/join date on posts

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, Janus - I suspect it’s probably just added clutter for many people these days, and I know with older phpbb it wasn’t so much of an issue as so many forums weren’t optimized for mobiles anyway

It still appears I find in landscape mode, just portrait hides it.

Is the homepage completely custom built or built on top of an existing CMS? The theme looks very similar to the colormag theme I used to use on Wordpress.

How am I discreetly meant to look at KUMB at work when I got that banner at the top that stays when I scroll up and down the page when I make the internet explorer screen smaller? It sticks out like a sore thumb!
