Would you sell Declan Rice for £90m?

Does exactly what it says on the tin - the forum for football-related discussion.

Keep and play him properly.....that is - with a partner who can work with him so that he’s not easily doubled up on.

Felt really sorry for him the last few weeks. He’s absolutely top class but pretty much having to do it all on his own. There’s no way he’s overrated and without him we would have been in a relegation battle last season and in the bottom three this. So important for us.

As I have mentioned, let's just try sticking Sanchez next to him for a couple of games

Sanchez himself is not the answer but it will certainly help Declan and our full backs out

That is too simplistic. Stick Sanchez in there and it gives licence to everyone else, including Rice, to be more mobile. Sanchez himself doesn't have to be particularly mobile in that role

Sanchez isn't great but the fact of the matter he is the only option we have, at this point in time, to shore up that area and tweak the balance of the side

We have tried most other things so IMHO we should give that a go

It is a system Spurs perfected with Dier and Dembele so this can be our version in the short term

Who?
Personally I think Rice would actually be more of an asset as a ball-playing central defender. We were quick to move him into midfield, however I think he would be more valuable for us if he was allowed to develop into a top class defender.

There are lots of players who can play the water carrier role, whereas top class defenders seem rare as hens teeth nowadays
