Sorry too old for me but interesting post. I have subscribed to David's email service and find his articles on football (mainly non-league) very interesting and informative...I've no idea if he's West Ham or not but he's a good writer and photographer.

Nope. Doesn't appear in my 'bible' so he never featured for the first team.

it was more-or-less a First Team line-up which turned out against Eastbourne United to inaugurate the new floodlights at Princes Park. The occasion provided the opportunity for Ron Greenwood to revisit the club of which he used to be manager, whilst several of our team renewed acquaintance with former colleague Bill Lansdowne — the current "boss" or the Athenian League side. A rainy night did not provide the best of backgrounds, but again some 2,000 were present and had an enjoyable 90 minutes of football, with three of our younger players - Bob Glozier, Jimmy Lindsay and amateur Jim Mullin - lining-up among the seniors.
