Like always, if the fans and team believe we'll win comfortably, it'll all go wrong and Palace will stroll home 3-0.
A tough game against a team that will be well organised and tough to break down. 0-0

It all depends if we are up for it. if so we will win by 2 at least if not a tight game.
wilshere to start is a no no. too slow and not up to speed. lanzini to return for fornals , cresswell will keep his place as scored in the last two games and done ok.
Roberto
fredericks diop ogbonna cresswell
noble rice lanzini
yarmolenko haller anderson
subs martin masuaka balbuena fornals snodgrass ajeti holland
2-0 hammers haller and anderson Top 4 cemented !

Can see a few goals in this one, 3.2 Hammers, and the European dream continues
Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread
I can't see this ending goalless (which means it's probably nailed on).
We've been decent going forwards and looked soft at the back (given up a lot of chances) without conceding too many. They've had a real mixed bag season - Everton D (H), Sheff blunts L(A), Manure W(A), Colchester (League Cup) L (pens) (H), Villa W (H), spurs L(A), Wolves D(H), Norwich W (H) - but have picked up all of their points bar the win away at Old Trafford at home.
As much as it always depends which West Ham shows up, this one really feels like it's a case of which Palace rocks up as well. I'd like to think we'll win, I can't see us getting another clean sheet so I'll go 2-1 with a nervy finish and Zaha trying to "win" a pen in the last 5 minutes.

as long as Antonio doesn't play and/or cross the ball with about 30 seconds left to play directly to the keeper, we'll be fine !!!!

I'll never get over that  It was a few days after that comeback against Spurs as well. I was thinking what a couple of results we've had here...and then that happens.Cuenca 'ammer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 10:41 pm as long as Antonio doesn't play and/or cross the ball with about 30 seconds left to play directly to the keeper, we'll be fine !!!!

Got a bad feeling about this. Palace are looking a lot more of a Hodgson side this season: better organized and harder to break down than in recent years.
WHU 0-1 CRP
WHU 0-1 CRP
Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread
This new Pelle side always attack a bit harder when we concede a goal. Having Fabianski injured might help in that regard!!!!
3-2 rerun of last year.....

Think they’re 4th in a table of points won in 2019 - Roy has had them in fine shape for a while. Quietly a point behind us in the actual league table without any fanfare.
Lost 2 of their 3 away from home though, crushed by Spurs and a small defeat on Sheffield United’s first home game of the season.
Fab out is a blow and could be costly. Zaha vs Fredericks and Yarmolenko vs Van Aanholt are the interesting battles - I know the left back gets a lot of flak for being poor defensively. They’ll battle in midfield too, three rugged ones in there last week. Fancy Cheik will be up for it, the cheeky swine.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread
would be good to sign off before the break with a good win 4-0 hammers and haller with 3 of them would be fantastic.
Zaha and townsend are nippy so fredericks and maybe masuaka for his pace. harsh on cresswell who has done well and scored 2 goals. I doubt he will lose his place for this one. how we handle Zaha is as always key .
we must also start well and no more slow starts.
our front of lanzini yarmolenko Anderson and haller will rip palace apart. so keep it tight and protect Roberto and we will win.
hope the crowd is up for it as live on sky. will be watching from my sofa as money is tight and don't go to the TV games anymore. affordable football my arse !
Back for the Sheffield pigs game though !

Zaha stats in the prem are:
184 games
32 goals
22 assists
So scores or creates a goal every 3.5 (ish) games. Is this a good return?
Players that aren't consistent though usually find their consistency against us! Remember Darius Vassell absolutely destroying us for 90 minutes at Villa Park one year.

Christian Benteke has scored four times in his last 58 club matches.
You know what that means. We're the ultimate footballing laxative. We should be available on the NHS.

One that still pains me, is Leon Best, hardly known for his Premier League goal scoring exploits, smashing a hat-trick past us at SJP, in a 5-0 defeat

Going to my first game at The LS, and first game in 4 years since moving back to Denmark!
Hoping for a dramatic 2-1 win with a late winner from Haller that will lift the roof of the bowl!

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread
Palace seem to do better away, probably because the home team attacks which suits Roy's plans and they can defend, this is going to be a tough game, sort of game we need to win though if we have real ambitions. Looking at the back line, we need to get at them, Ward is very Burnley esque, Kelly has come in and done well, I thought Cahill was done and PVA while attacking is great not amazing defensively. We've got to get Andersen going at Ward for me, got to be looking at the ball in behind or give and spin, exploiting Cahill's aging body
