Amadou Diallo

Post by YorksHammer » Wed Oct 09, 2019 11:11 am

The Guardian have identified Amadou Diallo as our most promising youngster coming through for their 'Next Generation 2019' feature, saying the following:
There is plenty of excitement about the England youth forward. Those who have worked with him for a while compare him to Raheem Sterling and expect him to rise to the top if he continues to work hard. “This boy is special,” Jack Collison, West Ham’s former under-18s coach, says. Making his debut in the Under-18 Premier League when he was 14 is a measure of Diallo’s potential and his progress has not gone unnoticed by West Ham’s rivals. However West Ham convinced him to sign a new deal in the summer
Previous players to be identified include Sam Howes, Reece Oxford, Domingos Quina, Anouar El Mhassani, and Daniel Jinadu - not necessarily a glittering list, although the last two are both still with the club at least.

Not seen much written about this kid - the official site has the following to say:
Schoolboy striker Amadou Diallo is a West Ham United player of immense promise.

So highly rated is England U16 international Diallo within the Academy of Football that he was just 14 years and six months old when he debuted in the U18 Premier League at Arsenal in August 2017.

The forward featured seven times for the U18s while still an U15 by age-group, starting three times. As an U16 schoolboy, he netted his first goals at U18 level in a 3-2 Premier League Cup victory over Manchester City in November 2018.
Anybody know more about him?

All I can tell you about him, is that he almost certainly won't make it with us.

Smooth on the inside, crunchy on the outside: Amadou Diallo.

Incorrect.

Puff doesn't like it when we spend money on youth players from other teams, or offer them contracts once they've been released. It's a waste apparently, even though the most valuable player in our first team right now was signed exactly on those terms and totally justifies every miss we've ever had.

I just make blanket statements about every hyped up player from our youth team because, by claiming they won't make it, I'll be right 99% of the time. Cos they pretty much never do.

In truth I know nothing more than anyone else. It's just a stupid thing I do, because I'm a sad, pathetic and largely negative person.

I hope he is good though.

Leaving aside the meat of this thread for a moment, anyone with an interest should appreciate such academically sound Puffology as that above in advancing understanding within the field.
