If Anderson continues to disappoint on the left then I would be promoting not buying.

21 now and scoring and assisting in spades, Holland should be getting some minutes before the season ends.

If we are spending any money, which I doubt, it should be invested in other areas.

after yesterday I don't think Giroud would work, he would get so much stick from the crowd for lack of effort. we have had too many forwards bought on previous reputation

It's all about three things for me;

1) A physically imposing and energetic all round central mid;
2) Bringing Diangana back;
3) Replacing Zabaleta with a younger challenger to Fred (who is a perfectly able PL RB)

We could, perhaps, shuffle in another striker.

Batshuayi? Last 18 months of his contract.

I agree about the midfielder, I'd like a Snograss/Noble upgrade, preferably a young one.

I'd leave Diangana where he is for the season, let him grow, we can use Holland.

I wouldn't want to buy another right back when we have Johnson who has looked the part whenever he has played.

Batshuayi has turned us down enough, he can stay on Chelsea's bench, I'd like to see more of Ajeti before we make a judgement.

There are a number of links coming out for wingers of late (a French dude from the MLS on a free), a QPR 21 year old, Everton Soares from Gremio, Ryan Fraser was linked a few weeks back. Seems a bit suspicious to me. Especially when both Diangana and Holland are tearing it up where they are. Body language from Anderson and Lanzini not been great towards Pellegrini - wonder if something going on there. Total speculation on my part.

Absolutely 100% agree on centre mid being the priority. Doucoure not having a great season at Watford, wonder if they’d twist.

I think Pelles teams need an energetic forward to work properly, a Vardy type. I would seriously swap Haller for Pukki (shoot me if you want :hush:)

We need another striker. A serious premier league club cannot have 1 proper striker (Haller), 1 no hoper (Ajeti) & a wildcard who isn't a natural striker (Antonio).

An energetic box to box midfielder would be nice too!!

If Anderson is offski, would people welcome Grealish?

Seems to have matured significantly, definitely skillful and a good contributor defensively.

I’d be going all out to temp Doucoure from Watford.
Bottom of league and just sacked another manager.
If the price is right get it done.

Talking of a box to box midfielder I wouldn't mind if we went after Cantwell from Norwich. When ever I have watched him he's involved all over the pitch.
IMVHO he would be a natural replacement for Noble, He gets up and down the pitch , not afraid to tackle and has a good range of passing. Also he's not afraid to shoot or head a ball.

I'll step back now and await the flack that's coming.

He’s the missing link
:thup: :)

Ibrahim Sangaré... 21 years old, 1.91 m (6 ft 3 in), international with Ivory Coast (5 games, 1 goal), 52 games for Toulouse (Ligue 1), 1 goal... Looks promising...

Still, personally I like more Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) and Bruno Gimaraes (Athletico Paranaense, has Spanish pass according some media), specially this last one,as I can imagine Sangare and Laimer will cost +25m and the brazilian one is for 15m to have...

Anyway... Point is, Ill be happy if we get at least ONE good combative & energetic B2B player there..

WHU interest in the sign of the 18 years old Dinamo Bucarest (Romania) U19 keeper Stefan Brian Fara according some sources...

Interesting player indeed.. as he qualifies for the Republic of Ireland too, as he was born in Dublin before being raised in Romania.

We need more pace, a lot more steel and some creativity. I’d love to see us sign some young athletic players, preferably English . Mid lobe to go for Franck Kessie but he might be a bit unrealistic. If we can’t get a Franck Kessie class player I think we should look at the best young players from the championship. My first choice would be Eberiche Eze , although he only really brings pace and creativity. I’d also love to sign a joe Rodon, but I doubt he’d be available in January. As many others have suggested Ducoure would be a perfect fit, but Alun Brown, Josh Brownhill and Jonathan Swift would also be good candidates for central midfield.

Unless we are in the poo (relegation wise) and we are free of major injuries I cannot see us buying anybody. We have already f**ked up finishing top 6/7 so why spend gazillions in January to finish say 10th?

An 18 year old goalkeeper. Why in God's name, do we need one of these ?

He's a prospect, will cost practically nothing and might make it.

If selling Anderson meant getting Grealish, I'd put the for sale sign up tomorrow.

I think he's a very very good player, creates more than Anderson, takes it past players better than Anderson, and crosses it better than Anderson.

We're 4 points off the top 5 and from a relegation place.

Standing still will be a big risk, doing something shrewd could yield a big reward.

That said, I don't expect anything beyond some loans. I'd be surprised if we do nothing. There's almost certain to be a player or two who wants out.

I'd say he definitely seems to be on the downward trajectory.
Sadly the sort of player that we've bought far too many of, too many times.

I think we've unofficiously promised Slav that he can have him for the whole season.
He's playing a BIG part of their push for promotion. If we took him back (which of course we are entitled to do, I believe), I don't think that WBA would ever forgive us.
I also think that it's doing Grady a lot of good for his development, if he stays there for the whole season.
