Do you do this sort of thing on purpose?

Formality isn't necessary when your miracle baby boy gives the player their debut (I'm assuming this is his mum)

Once they drop a level, that's where they stay.
Very true...

Another example for me would be Theo Walcott

I think Ross Barkley is incredibly average. He was excellent when he was 16/17, but injuries and confidence have buggered him. A 6-month loan would only suit him, not us.

Gary Doherty was a solid if unspectacular right-back until Espiroto Santo came in
What a coach Nuno must be if he's even got Gary playing well!

Barkley for all his faults would be a clear upgrade on Noble or Allen.

I am sure most agree.

He's also prone to lapses of concentration leading to critical and costly errors.

Would fit right in...

Genuine surprise that it's something we tried, he's started their last two games!

Would suggest we are not going to sign Berge, the lad is available and we've thrown ourselves at others instead. Joe Allen is becoming more and more likely

Knighter10WHU wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:02 am Absolute rubbish. He was still playing regularly for Chelsea and England until Mason Mount stepped up massively this season. Barkley would do wonders for our midfield.
I don't disagree, I said he was becoming a wasted talent by virtue of him not getting game time at Chelsea. I think he's a very good player and could be a great loan signing. I was just curious as to why he wasn't being played at Chelsea. If Mason is keeping him out, that would explain it (ironically, I really wanted us to get Mount in the summer!). I thought Barkley might have had injury problems again, as he seems to have been prone to those. Another reason why he would fit in well here!

Barkley would be an excellent loan signing.

But there's no chance they would loan him to us so it's another one in the razzle dazzle "we did try" list.

There is no reason on earth that our interest in Barkley has been leaked to the press. Unless deliberate.
Of course Lampard or the club wouldnt help us. Likewise Spus and the Gedson deal that indicates most of London would happily see us off!

It's humiliating to be a West Ham fan today. Bloody heartbreaking what they have done to us.

Yup. Though the ultimate current example is Lingard. The second half of his career will likely resemble Tom Huddlestone's.

What i see is that they are very similar players, in terms that they both haven't got the legs....Allen probably better at tackling, although not a box to box player, while Noble is a better passer and more technically astute...

Probably bias but Noble is the better player and of course, is a leader for us....and in a different formation, he would be good in the "quarter back" role and maybe he can do that if we played with 3 centre backs....but he needs someone to do the running for him....we have a tackler in Rice...we don't need Allen...IMHO...

But we all know what those muppets will do...bury their heads in the sand while counting all the millions they are creaming off the club....

Next Level???...Joe Allen....don't make me laugh....

Read that Stoke are looking for £15 million for Allen, so no chance of Sully paying that, wouldn't want him even at the £5million that we have allegedly bid

hammerman11 wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2020 1:43 pm all this Barbosa and jovic talk is rubbish as if they would come to us.

barkley maybe as he needs to play to go to the euro`s

berge would be nice and possibly for the money and the PL stage.

allen most likely but I don't see the point unless we don't sign the young athetic strong pacey midfielder we need and allen is cheap at 8m and stoke want to get rid of him!

RB is the most urgent need unless they are gambling on fredericks being back on time 1st march. we will be down by then if we have to rely on zaba

a right old mess
We can only dream about Barbosa and Jovic....money always talks though....Haller being here would be a head turner for Jovic who isn't doing much in Madrid and maybe he can work with his mate again?...a loan deal could be asked?...Barbosa isn't wanted by Inter as they seem to be eyeing up other targets...maybe Anderson can have a word...?

If our owners really want to attempt to take us to the next level then these are the players we should be looking at...we know they wont, but we can dream...

I’m not Barkley’s biggest fan, I think he’s failed to reach his potential by some way, but he still walks straight in our first team. I don’t even think that’s debatable.
