Your completely missing the point,
Even without samuelson this is the type of player we need, young hungry and scores goals, the guy is in the championship and has 1 year left, the figures being bandied around are 15 million, even if you say to hull we'll take him on loan for the samuelson fee with a obligation to buy at lets say...15 million.
There's no joined up thinking at all,
If your dealing with a club and want one of their players who has a minimal time left on his deal and you also are selling them a player there has to room to do a deal.
I understand the point mate, but if one of the players in the deal is worth 2% of the other one in relative transfer terms, you aren't really adding to your offer by including him in negotiations. In fact, what you probably end up doing is muddying the waters further by involving more agents and more unnecessary potential barriers to a successful deal.

Swap deals are notoriously difficult to get done. Agents want their cut, and when less money is changing hands they tend to create problems.

Bowen has a year left on his deal, leeds are sniffing around. If we cant beat leeds for a bloke with 1 year left on his deal we might as well turn out the lights.
If offered the chance to work with a coaching great like Bielsa or David Moyes, who would you choose?

The point was more that Samuelson has almost no value, if you say... "we won't sell you Samuelson for (what did we get do you think 200K maybe 400k) unless it's part of a deal for a player that you are already refusing to sell for 18M (Leeds offer was allegedly 3M loan with 15M on top to make it permanent) well then their answer is obviously going to be... "okay, make us a 20M bid, or we'll go sign some other cheap youngster.

We aren't likely buying Bowen because he's expensive and not a great fit for our most pressing needs in terms of trying to stay up. Samuelson isn't a carrot that entices Hull, and we probably bit their hand off to get money for him since he has no future here.

Imagine you are in a shop to buy a Mars Bar, now it happens you also have a truck you want to sell.... the shop owner wants to buy a truck but not for your asking price.... is he stupid for selling you a Mars Bar instead of holding the Mars Bar hostage against your selling him the truck at a discount? Of course not, because you'd just go get another cheap candy somewhere else.

As nice as mars bars are they wont keep you in the premiership. :)
We are a haller injury away from real panic stations,
Young, pacy forward who scores goals isint going to be a problem getting into our team.
Bowen is exactly the type we need as its a no lose scenario, he'll more than hold his value and if we go down he'll score goals and he has that elusive trait we just dont have...pace.

Stop it with your logic about buying talent out of the lower leagues

We're the shop owner and Bowen is the truck.... great to have but it costs real money.

Samuelson is the Mars Bar, and possibly less likely to help us stay up, at least the Mars Bar might give one of our players a 5 minute burst of energy.

Sorry to say it, but I'm expecting that before the end of the season

We tried to add one or two Mars Bars to the squad, but transfers are notoriously difficult in January and despite working 48 hours a day in an attempt to finalise the deals, we sadly ran out of time and couldn't quite get the deals over the line.

We are however delighted to announce the exiting signing of a 1p shrimp to West Ham, a deal that we managed to push through thanks to the hard work and diligence of the board, despite interest from many rival clubs and we have high hopes of his contribution to the team, already brimming with quality confectionary assembled at great expense, over the coming months.

As one or two other have pointed out, it seems who we bring in is heavily dependent on the fact that we have just one full time scout at the club and are banking on a couple Sullivans agent friends, Silkman being one.

Added to which, it seems there is a reluctance to part with any real cash and GSB have allegedly burnt so many bridges over the years a lot of clubs simply won't do business with them.

We can tout names all day long, but bear in mind the above when posting player names as people we should get.

I can't say that is any surprise, but confess I did not know that. That makes matters far worse than I ever realised and explains why our feed lines to players are narrower and of course, why we do not make bids for players who would be within our parametres

Puff you should know it?

Sully dicking clubs around with bids for players and Brady in the press have made us toxic

There was a moment of concern when they realised there was no actual way to pay it in installments...

“Freddo on the wing, the young boy has a real spring in his step today. He beats his man, whips in a cross, wonderful lay off by West Ham’s new Turkish Delight there.... OOOOH! Cola Bottle has bottled it, blazing it over from six yards. The lad has been a fantastic bargain signing at 1p, but he should have done better there!”

Hull have no real season to sell Bowen now do they?
Will probably be quite a few clubs in for him in the summer. Spurs have been tracking for ages, I expect Leicester will be sniffing about. Most clubs in the Premiership and those promoted will be interested. Hull may as well wait and let the bidding war ensue
If Leeds go up I expect he will go there given the geography

He's out of contract in six months.

I think Hull have the option of triggering an extension for another year

"Without agreeing a new contract, the Tigers would effectively be forced to sell Bowen ahead of the 2020-21 season if they were to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer the following summer"
