You must be one of the very few that think so - we have 2 LBs, neither of whom can defend worth a crap. Midfield is probably even more pressing, by LB isn't far behind

Paid in Woolworths gift certificates!bubbles1966 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 3:46 pm if we're to believe things they are trying to get someone - anyone - please, anyone!!! - to do a £10m deal for a young right back, and a £10m deal for an athletic midfielder .....ideally paid for with an Argos card and 5 years interest free credit. Oh, and a loan for someone like Sakho/Maiga.

Forest are good bet to come up. Why would a player want to join someone looking like they could swap places in their divisions and have their new wage deal cut by 50%?
Looks like a classic "we did try and spend some money...honestly" ruse to me.

That is a medically induced original  feel free to plagiarise it at parties and other social gatheringshammer1975 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 2:43 pm Never heard this before but perfectly summarises the confidence that a few of the players seem to have at the moment
Their confidence is paper thin you'd think scoring 4 would at least last a couple of games but they seem just as scared of playing as ever.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
How much financial trouble are we actually in when we have to pay £10m in instalments, I know most transfers are done that way but for gods sake we’re the 18th richest club in the world paying next to nothing each year in rent.
When people take over football clubs they know that they are going to have to invest a lot of their money to make that team competitive, if they wanted to make money or balance the books there is only one true reason for that, selling the club in the near future

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
We are not in financial trouble. We are owned by profiteers who are milking every penny they can. I hope they are doing this because they are planning on selling as you say, but I've lost all optimism. Why would they slash the books in 2020 if they'll be taxed on a sale of the club until 2023? They could simply be doing it because they are utter c**** who don't give a f***.keithwright1977 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 4:55 pm How much financial trouble are we actually in when we have to pay £10m in instalments, I know most transfers are done that way but for gods sake we’re the 18th richest club in the world paying next to nothing each year in rent.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
I don't have much of an issue with our LBs relative to a lot of areasKludgehammer wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 4:32 pm You must be one of the very few that think so - we have 2 LBs, neither of whom can defend worth a crap. Midfield is probably even more pressing, by LB isn't far behind
When our midfield works, and is not overrun, our LBs actually look good IMHO, especially Masuaku
Fix the midfield and the fullbacks become much less of a concern
I think RB is more of an issue than LB

Tuppence and Ha'ppeny might stretch our budget but the owners will probably offer shrapnel in part exchange insteadkeithwright1977 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 4:30 pm After the bid for Cash, who next Tuppence, Shrapnel, Dosh, Dough, Pony
