Why worry? It's Gold and Sullivan who'll take the hit and even better, the flack that'll go with itil_martello_di_genovesi wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 6:45 pm Not sure how people want to gamble and not sign anyone. Everton were **** at the Weekend and we couldn't beat them. We didn't have the quality, creativity or goals in the side. Same at Sheff Utd. We've played ok in both games without having that bit extra to to get the points. At the end of the day playing ok, but not getting 3 points will see us relegated.
Lanzini and Haller are not providing us with the creativity or goals and we don't have that bit of energy or drive in central midfield either.
Newcastle are on 29 points and want to make sure they keep themselves as far away from 18th as possible. We sit on 23 and want to risk 3 teams being worse than us...and even then, one of those 3 teams are signing players to try and get themselves out of it also.

PS to my post above ~ When relegation happens, it wont be very comfortable reading for them in the press either

Being outdone by Mike Ashley in this window
Bentaleb looked half handy for Spurs!
Shelvey would be a good addition for the a Championship next season

Except Moyes is talking up their spending as is the Mirror today discussing massive net spend since they've been here. This'll be the spin I'd guess.Puff Daddy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 7:01 pm PS to my post above ~ When relegation happens, it wont be very comfortable reading for them in the press either
Not sure on this myself but either they've spent a lot net or not... Wonder if agents fees and wages are included on incomings but not outgoings?? Can't believe you could account in only one direction?

On the Joe Allen front rumour has it that we’re waiting for him to pick up a little injury so we can try and haggle for the price. The brainstorming in those transfer meetings is out of this world

Well they were waiting for West Ham to go into administration before they bid for us until they were forced to actually invest some actual money (that they keep reminding us of whenever they want to shame us for criticising them) when another bid came to light. So it's right down their tactical street.keithwright1977 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 7:25 pm On the Joe Allen front rumour has it that we’re waiting for him to pick up a little injury so we can try and haggle for the price. I can vouch for Jebediah. That blacksmith is itk.steveyrockstar wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 6:35 pm Speaking of Newcastle and Shelvey, my mate bought a skillet pan from the ironmonger who makes Jonjo Shelvey's boutique cast-iron cookware. Apparently, it's a done deal that he's coming here.

Joe Allen looks very much like Noble in our team when he has an off day.
He’s doing a lot of jogging around, covering very little area and the ball is fizzing around him without him getting a touch.

Much, much worse. Free headers straight to oppo. Passes behind players when they break. Outmuscled repeatedly. He’s been pretty poor.HammerMan2004 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:33 pm Joe Allen looks very much like Noble in our team when he has an off day.
