West Ham Utd 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur (23/11/19)

Post by BethnalGreenHammer74 »

Saturday 23/11, 12:30pm kick off.

We normally raise our game against this lot, we are in a proper slump and they are not at there best. But they still have the players who could proper hurt our flimsy team.

I Would like us to go 3-5-2 with Yarmolenko up top with Haller. But will Pellegrini change his formation?

I would go with this team.
Martin, Fredericks, Balbuena, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Rice, Snodgrass, Anderson, Yarmolenko, Haller

Subs: Roberto, Zabeleta, Antonio, Holland, Ajeti, Scully, Noble.

I’m going for a 2-2 draw.

I to would go 352 but pelle wont and there wont be enough time to work on the new formation due to the internationals.
assuming noble is out with lanzini I would go and expect pelle to select:

martin
fredericks diop ogbonna masuaka
rice fornals Snodgrass
Anderson haller yarmolenko

play fornals in the middle as that's his position ! doubt if wilshere will be up to a full 90 mins or even make the bench but I have assumed he will be ready for last 15 mins. sub yarmolenko when he tires and replace with Antonio. If Anderson is poor again then try Holland out for last 20 mins. we have nothing to lose and he may surprise us.

subs Roberto Balbuena cresswell wilshere Antonio ajeti Holland

I hope we don't start Antonio as I fear the worse in a derby match with him trying too hard, a rare thing for a west ham player !

cant see us getting anything but a 2-0 defeat

Seen a few saying ' We normally raise our game against this lot ' but honestly I can't see who in the team that's capable or will feel inclined to raise their game - why raise your game against one team and not bother against another , those players are of no use to West Ham .

especially with no noble. we have a bunch of journeymen and this is another game against another team from London.

no passion no fight in this one and pelle has to go. If he cant motivate the team for this one then he never will !

ogbonna fredericks snoddy are the only ones I can think of that will bother and possible martin if he gets the nod which he surely must !

Roberto is getting worse and we need a steady eddy GK which hopefully martin is. no more trying to play it out and cock ups just boot the f upfield for yarmo and haller to lartch onto.

I wouldn't go anywhere near Martin, dropped a very simple catch against Brighton to cost Millwall a semi final place last year. There's a reason why he's 3rd choice.

Spurs look equally bad right now, no confidence whatsoever in the team and if they lose to a team with no win in 10 there will be serious unrest.

I'm going for a draw, Antonio to make the difference

No passion, no work ethic, no discipline, no organisation.
Try as I might I can't see anything but a win for the Totts, 1-3. Bottom 3 for Christmas.

We have been lucky to only concede 3 in many of our recent losses. I think our luck may have run out. 5-0. To Spurs, not us. No Noble and a toxic atmosphere. It could be a turning point and we do raise our game with the crowd behind us but it could also go the way I pictured. Real sliding doors moment which could determine the season.

Oh my gawd I almost forgot that this was coming up.
I usually really look forward to this fixture, but unfortunately I just remembered I will be busy washing my hair.

Gutless 4 nil reverse .Repeat until Pellers goes
Roberto to make the obligatory errors.
Centre halves not competing in the air
Midfielders not tracking back .
Haller isolated.
Another gift from the premierships only registered charity.

Who for Tottenham is in a bad goal scoring run of form or is just coming back from injury or needs an all round confidence boost?

If Roberto starts then we have to score at least 3 and not convinced we can score 1 at times. That said I’m worried Martin could be worse - only one way to know though... Maybe Fabianski in a cast would be the best option still.

Fredericks should be nailed on at right back, not because he’s the best right back ever but because he’s better than Zabaleta.

Ogbonna should come in for Balbuena who’s confidence looks shot.

Diop is our best centre back currently but not playing great either.

Cresswell or Masuaku is like flipping a coin, but I’d probably favour Arthur for the added pace.

Rice, again like Diop is in despite not playing well and making costly mistakes as there is nobody banging at the door to replace him.

Snodgrass, as he gives us much needed energy in midfield.

Noble, unless injured because this is a game that he is needed for, although another player horribly off form. If not then Wilshere if he’s fit. If both injured then Sanchez. We can’t have Fornals MIA in this game.

Yarmolenko, not afraid to shoot and does work hard too. Antonio hopefully on the bench to replace him when he’s out of puff.

Anderson, many critical of him but I see somebody who is trying but it’s just not happening. Take the Newcastle game when he’s the only player sprinting back to prevent the 2 counter attacks they miss. I wish Pellegrini would stop subbing him off!

Haller, perhaps having the extra centre midfielder (not being Lanzini or Fornals) will allow Yarmolenko or Anderson to get closer to him. He needs to show a bit more though like he did at the start of the season.

The bench to be made up of those fit enough for it.

Spurs not won away since January, we know what happens next.

5 at the back, 5 at the back, let's at least attempt to stop the constant concecing, this stop starting every game 2-0 down and we might stand a chance.
