Re: Who Next? The odds
Jesus, this fascination with ex players does my head in.
Has anyone ever heard Ferdinand on TV? I wouldn’t put him in charge of the weekly shopping!
Plus, I’m sure I heard him say about M’bappe (I think) at the Euros/WC, “I wouldn’t mind him at my old club”, to which Shearer, with that smug grin said, “who? West Ham?” He’s Man U all the way.

I'd just like to see someone who knows what they're doing. Someone who can get our players playing to their potential. They're playing well below that currently.hammernsickle wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 6:57 pm Is that really as crazy as it sounds?....
They've seen everything, done everything, won everything. And it all started here......
Rio would command respect.....
Moyes would do that, Dyche would do that, also Rafa and Sam. Not so sure about Howe.
I'm not a big fan of those four but they definitely know what they're doing whereas Rio and Joe have no experience, it's a crazy risk and I'd think would end in more tears. Long term I don't think Dyche is the worst idea and I'd prefer Moyes over Rafa even though I didn't enjoy all of his stint with us, he got us fitter and he rearranged the team in a way that got us winning again quickly which is something that we desperately need now.
I'd like to see a manager who is capable and prepared to be with us for a number of years, I thought Pellers was that man.
When it gets to this stage I just wish they'd make the move as soon as possible and get the new guy in.

Re: Who Next? The odds
Where have either of them cut their managerial teeth? The BT studio?
And people are touting them for West Ham United? We might be **** at the minute but come on.

I'd rather have Anton as manager than Rio. Bloke is Manc through and through.

Re: Who Next? The odds
If £10m in compensation would be the cost of Dyche, that’s the equivalent I’d guess of 6 league places TV money? It’s just possible he could generate that through his appointment

Re: Who Next? The odds
Loved Rio as a WHU player.
Wouldn’t want him as our next manager as he has no experience and wouldn’t be ready, but won’t be slagging him off as an ex Hammer.
He was brilliant for us.
I’ve met Joe Cole on numerous occasions and he still absolutely loves the club, holds us responsible for the best football he ever played, and turned down bigger & longer offers for the chance to come back here for that short second spell.
He’s a top top fella.

Re: Who Next? The odds
I’ve no doubt Joe is a nice guy, he always comes across that way.
Mind you, I thought I heard him say on TV last Saturday that West Ham’s problems were confined to the pitch and that off it things were fine. Not exactly got his finger on the pulse there if I heard him correctly.

Re: Who Next? The odds
I genuinely believe no matter who we bring in the form will stay the same and that’s down to the fact we have a shocking keeper in goal.
We could bring in Jose and still lose games as we have no faith in the man between the sticks
When Fabianski is back I fully expect our results to improve, my only worry is that the team will be so beaten up that we will struggle to pick up enough points to survive.
I don’t think changing the gaffer will make any difference at the moment, that said if we are going to let him go we have to do it now give a new manager to get rid of some dead wood and look at new players
For January.
I’d like to see a young unproven manager given a go, as let’s be honest it’s not the manager calling the shots at this football club anyway.

Re: Who Next? The odds
After the way they treated him I doubt Moyes would even take their call.... I certainly wouldn't.
Not that that's a bad thing mind.

Amazing isn't it? Every transfer window, we are in competition with them for average players, now we are in competition with them for an average manager

Bringing back Moyes, would mean Sullivan was essentially admitting he was wrong.
Never going to happen.

Moyes won't happen as IMO Everton will lose their next game and Silva will be sacked first. Thus Everton will get Moyes before we do.

Re: Who Next? The odds
Kenwright wants Moyes, Moshiri doesn’t though is what I’ve read. Either way you can bet we face a new Arsenal manager in 12 days time.funky chicken wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 10:02 am Moyes won't happen as IMO Everton will lose their next game and Silva will be sacked first. Getting Moyes back would be a shocking decision [and would make me reconsider going] but he would definitely come back if offeredSloop John B wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 9:07 am After the way they treated him I doubt Moyes would even take their call.... I certainly wouldn't.

Why wouldn't he?
He wasn't really treated badly
His managerial stock was at the lowest ebb. He got the gig here on a temporary basis when no-one else would touch him with a barge-pole.
WHen his contract finished he wasn't kept on as much more high profile, successful manager was chosen instead. He didn't do that well here that not keeping on was a controversial decision. He did ok, nothing more, nothing less
