Great to be part of it today, by my reckoning there was well over a thousand attending , i was about 20 yards from speakers and was struggling to hear, not those speaking fault , they’ll put that right next time , the important thing was those that could not hear didn’t leave. This was the first major stone thrown in the pond, the ripples will spread and gather force until the waves are crashing at the foundation’s of their cocooned ivory tower.
Big thanks to organisers and speakers, keep spreading the word :crest:
Yes I couldn’t hear much and I was close. I was with my parents and they wanted to leave after 20 minutes but I told them that the important thing about today was to show numbers and they duly stayed. It was well worth it

These were grassroots fans unable to get a PA together . . .
"I think it was 'Blessed are the cheesemakers . . . Well, obviously, this is not meant to be taken literally. It refers to any manufacturers of dairy products "

"See? If you hadn't been going on, we'd have heard that, Big Nose."

On a serious note congrats and sincere thanks to the hard work from all involved organizing today - great job.

Some pictures and audio from today's anti-board protest at the Olympic Park, staged by supporters' group Hammers United.
I wanted to come and say well done earlier - I didn’t get a chance but for what it’s worth now - you did great.

Who were the speakers today? When i got there UTJ had just started (although didnt realise thats who it was until i saw a photo on here). Thought the younger bloke with slicked back hair was really really good (the one who talked about the 40k in the stadium and asked people not to do anything that would put the protest in a bad light).

Sound wasnt great so couldnt hear the others very much, but the first two were worth it alone and today was an important start.

I was in two minds this morning about whether to go. Was worried that not many people would be there or that things are too far gone for us to get our club back. Im glad i went and the turnout gave me hope that we've still got a chance. A huge thank you to the organisers.

Huge respect to all those that attended, and a massive thank you to all the speakers. I hope the movement grows and we keep this momentum going.

Would be great to get the next protest going, when we are live on Sky.

Being there today strengthened my belief there is still fire in the bellies of fans to fight for a great cause. Although difficult to hear at times, everyone who spoke did so with passion and honesty.

One suggestion if I may. If the next protest was held in the same place, what if the main organisers/speakers stood down on the path with their backs to the stadium and the crowd stood up on the bank, therefore creating an amphitheatre type scenario. Also in that configuration, any type of PA system would be on a more solid foundation (less of a worry for H&S) and easier for people to hear.

Anyway. Well done to everyone involved in the organisation and to everyone who put in the effort to turn up.

What would make matters really uncomfortable for them and would in my view, probably make them quit, would be for 60,000 people in the stadium to rise as one and chant incessantly, non stop, GS&B out! ~ Think Villa Park semi final v Nottingham Forest in 1991 and that fantastic non stop 'Johnny Lyall's Claret and Blue army. We kept that up for nearly 90 minutes, so it can be done. Its just a question of a leader to start the whole thing in motion, because people are like sheep. they follow
Sadly those days are long gone. Too many people want to clap politely, eat their popcorn and buy the half n half scarf as a souvenir as their day out.

Was there today - great turnout. Well done all involved.

UtJ was great, also the 2nd I think (tallish with black hair) was also exceptional.

Keep it up and I'll be there for the next event, hopefully with some extra bods I reckon I'll be able to persuade.

The speeches especially UTJs (great to bump into you before BTW sorry I kinda gave a quick goodbye but my mums not well so I was talking to her) convinced me that this is worth investing my time into.
I hope your mum is feeling better soon, Laffers.

Lovely to bump into so many people from here and elsewhere today. And thanks all for the kind comments - as I said, it was a privilege to be able to contribute. All rather heartwarming stuff.

Fantastic speech UTJ. Like I said earlier, saw the speakers so good to know what they actually said.

I couldn't hear a word, but that sums it up as well as anybody could

Isn't it amazing that those actually employed or making a living by being being 'fan voices' - the SLO, the OSB, Moose, C&H etc - all swerve an actual real fan protest? It's a bit like employing Nicolas Anelka in customer relations.

Did WHFTV cover it out of interest?
