"‘I’ve no regrets leaving Upton Park, we had to move forward"

Move forward??

remind us all again where we are in the table Mr I lived at 442 David Gold. Oh yes that's right 16th and once again fighting a relegation battle and already out of one cup via a lower league humiliation. This 4 seasons on since the move

We could have done this at the Boleyn, at least that would be our own ground which we owned and we all loved, at least we knew our lot in the footballing world and had a club we were all proud off. Plus and more importantly we would still very much be West Ham UNITED!

Gold Sullivan and Brady please just **** OFF out of our club.

Move forward?

Christ... we are in 16th place, are resting our hopes on staying up on a signing from 4 year plus Hamstrings not exploding and the return of a 34 year old goalkeeper while clubs with about 40k smaller attendances regularly outspend us every year.

Unbelievable.

Yep, he's hardly going to say the opposite, is he?
He'll keep saying that for the rest of his life, just like Sully will. Hardly going to do a, 'Ratners', are they?
To say that he has no regrets, just shows you the man that he is. Someone that believes if you say something enough times, people might believe it.
HE might not have any regrets, but what about the fans, eh, Dave..
Great comments on here & there.

A short story about David Gold.

My wife arranged a box for me and my family at the Boleyn on New Year's Day 2013 for my 50th v. Norwich. 1-0 thanks to Joey O'Brien. Awesome day, I met Sir Trev (again) Alan Taylor (great bloke), Keith Robson (even better), Phil Parkes (best ever GK IMVHO) George Cohen WC winner in 1966 ( a big thrill for my Fulham-supporting brother-in-law). Truly magical day out as 13 family members wore claret and blue and cheered the lads on.

The only weird thing came from David Gold - and he was very friendly pitch side posing for photos before the game - he said, "I hope YOU win today."

It was one of the most jarring things I've ever heard. Why not, "I hope WE win today"? It simply didn't make sense, and I've never got over it. It undermines anything I've heard him say since.

Bit over the top mate. He's not Adolf Hitler.
