Just seen on WHO that Gavros, known to many on forums has sadly passed away from a heart attack on Monday, I am sure he was a regular on here and I have followed his updates on Skyscraper City regarding the OS for years, sad day that a young 42 year old hammer passes away, thoughts are with his family and friends.

read about that. never met the bloke (to my knowledge) but always enjoyed his running battles with the regulars on WHO, regardless to the tightness of his jeans. 42 is no age. rest in peace mate.

Paul Colborne

Gavin Rednap.R.I.P.

It is with deep regret that we report the passing of our Committee member Gavin Rednap.

Gavin was a relatively young man in his early 40s and it seems he died of a heart attack last week.

Gavin was raised in East Ham and a passionate Hammer. He had a specialist committee role looking at ways of improving the London Stadium and had made solid progress. He leaves a gap in our ranks which will be extremely difficult to fill.

To be honest we didnt know Gavin well as he was a new committee member who basically kept himself to himself and just got on with the project. He was better known on West Ham Online where there is a special thread paying tribute.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

R.I.P. Gavin and thanks for your help. When we achieve our aims you would have played an important part.

Up the Hammers.

This is so sad. I liked his posts on stadiums and sports arenas as he obviously loved football grounds like me. Thoughts with his family and friends.

Like everyone on WHO I was shocked when I learned of Gavin's death. Not a perfect person but a decent person whose actions spoke as loudly as his words. He set up the Hammers in need fund and offered his home as a crash pad for those in need of one. His wife and family must be distraught.

A true Hammer.

RIP

He was passionate and forthright in his posts and also funny. He was one of the reasons I would go on WHO so a sad loss to the West Ham family. RIP Gavros :crest:

My sympathies to his family and friends.

Gavin was passionate about our Club. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he was trying to fund the purchase and transport of a Thames Ironworks ship to be moored outside the OS. He had a vision to make the move expansive and to build our identity.

Gavin’s youth, energy and idealism will be missed. I knew he was working with HU and he was a real asset.

The boats and barges doing a matchday trade prove that his vision was a good one. I agreed with him that the place could be so much more.

RIP Gav.
