Not so much a comment on his overall play today, it's just something he does a fair bit in every game. It's unusual because it's the type of thing that isn't usually associated with attacking midfielders. Reflects a slight lack of guile perhaps.

Snodgrass on the right only really works if there's a willing overlapping runner from the midfield to draw the opposition away from Snoddy(attacking-wise, that why Yarmolenko with Snodgrass works, defensively, not so much). Otherwise he's not quick enough to get a yard on his man to cut inside for the cross, instead he's easily shielded away from goal and is forced to recycle the ball back.

Good post. Replace him with Lanzini who has the pace to burst inside. We need to gamble with Anderson and Lano on the bench.

We haven't been awful. Minus that one chance Ayew should've buried we have been comfortable defensively. So much so apart from the odd punch Roberto hasn't had much to do.

Snodgrass hasn't been great, but our midfield has worked hard. We just need to be a lot more ruthless when we get in good postions. We seem to have a phobia of shooting.

The game is there to be won. Just need to be a bit braver in the final 3rd

The first 20 minutes were awful with zabaleta caught out of position 5 times in the first 12 minutes and Snodgrass has been truly atrocious and Roberto only marginally better. Fortunately Rice, Noble, Antonio, Balbuena and Cresswell have been decent and Ogbonna has been outstanding.
Anderson on for Snodgrass soon.

What has the likes of Noble, Rice, Antonio really done to earn the tag of decent. We've not built up from the middle, all our attacks have been shoveled to the sides. We've completely vacated the middle. Antonio has been ineffective through the top, so much so that he's taken a wide role leaving Haller as the lone man which is what we've been trying to avoid by accommodating a 4-4-2 in the first place.
