I play for an over 50's walking football team here in Spain whose defending is better than we managed for that 2nd goal.

Didn't deserve to win, didn't deserve to lose, didn't offer anything another poor attempt at playing football. Disappointment is now the norm.

We are **** overall, total **** and have been all season. That’s his ****ing fault for sure. Everytime his number is up we nick a win and he gets more games and everytime it follows a pathetic result.

I just can't believe how insecure the team looks after going in the lead. Every time we go 1-0 I feel we are going to lose. Weird. What's up with the team mentality? Is everyone sad? Given up?

Why on earth was Lanzini brought on?

Changed the game, as we list the energy from Fornals.

Well played, Roberto at least.

To lose to any team is annoying, but to those bunch of cheats is almost unbearable - summed up in the last minute by their player being “injured” and then suddenly standing up when we went on the break.

On balance of play we probably deserved a draw - but I’d be amazed if any team has lost more points from winning positions than West Ham in the premier league era. Our attitude to a 1-0 lead is an embarrassment.

With Southampton and villa winning we are officially in deep trouble.

As much as I think Pellegrini is a spent force you can't blame him that defending. That was abject from Rice.

Agree. He shouldnt have sub Fornals for Lanzini. Fornals is one of few that actually runs.

A lot of angst on this thread.
I thought we played quite well.
A typical festive season game that could have gone either way.
Rice was a disgrace for the goal

We are the most unfit side I have ever seen and have been for the last 10 years.
I don't even know if it's lack of fitness necessarily, but the natural result of an age imbalance. It's Dad's Army out there. Balbuena is the only one of the back 4 and keeper who is under 30. Snodgrass and Noble are our engine room in midfield. Even Antonio, who's playing well, is about to turn 30. No Country for Old Men in the prem and we're greying in all areas.

It's surely the main reason we've scored so few goals past the 75th minute in the modern era.

15 points lost from winning positions now. Shows how weak and brittle we are.

Only a West Ham side can take a lead in a game of football and it somehow becomes the worse thing that could have happened.

At 0-0 Palace were not looking much of a threat, but as soon as we scored they turned into Barcelona and you just knew that once they got level they would go onto win.

We don't score and that likely imo ends up 0-0.

Shocking.

They care about the PL tv payments funding their loan interest; there are parachute payments, but no guarantee this shower would come up before they ran out, and if they did would require major spending to rebuild. All in all, I expect them to pull the trigger, probably before the jan window, though I wouldn't put it past them to do it when it was too late to spend in jan, and just hope for a new manager bounce to keep is up.

Tbh, although I'm gutted to lose from a winning position yet again,I thought we weren't as bad as many are suggesting. Yes we should have stopped the winner, but for the most part we limited Palace to only a few chances the whole game despite all their possession. Just before the winner we created 2 chances in the space of 60 seconds, and only a great last ditch block prevented Snodgrass getting a second goal.

I expect we will be in the bottom 3 after the Leicester game, and then all the pressure is on Pelle again. I'm bitterly disappointed with our season, but still think we will stay up. We can't blame Pelle today. It was just fine margins and individual errors again.

We are top of the league in relation to points lost from winning positions this season. Today’s 3 points bringing our total to 15.
