My first game was when I was about 7 or 8 around 1966.

Problem is I can't flippin remember who we were playing or the score.
Same for me and I can't remember either. But I can remember I was with two friends and taken by a neighbour and we had to crawl under the turnstile into the old South Bank (as I assume she tipped him a shilling!!

An early 9th birthday present, my step-dad and step-grandad took me, Everton 81-82. They were both Brentford fans and used to take me to Brentford matches as we lived local and the odd Fulham match. As I must have been tolerable for a full match, and I'd already decided I was a West Ham fan by then, I got a trip to Upton Park.

Mum and my step-dad weren't married at that point so I was picked up in the morning in his Cortina MkIV and we drove to Richmond to get on the District Line, seemed to take forever. Got there early and got myself a reversible home/away bobble hat and a scarf. Both of which I still have.

Can remember being gutted Brooking wasn't playing as he was injured. We sat in the West Stand Lower, 4-5 rows from the front, near the half way line. It finished 1-1 and I can't remember either goal. What I do remember is the ball being played out to Alan Bailey about 10 yards in their half over by the Chicken Run, he tried to control it with the inside of his foot and it went under his boot. It was the first time I'd heard thousands of people shout 'Waheey' and laugh in unison.

Aged 5 this was a few weeks before the league cup final against Liverpool & bigger crowd than expected I was told something to do with getting tickets for the final

Not much memories sadly as you get older although I think may have been 0-2 down at one point.

Someone may recall this game it’s not one that I’ve heard people mention

We’ve done this before so I know a few of us made our debuts to Leeds in ‘77/8 losing 0:1 and getting relegated that season. Made the Golden Age ‘80-86 all the sweeter.
Yes, me included. At least I suppose I resisted the temptation of becoming a Leeds fan as a result

Think it was ‘89.

1-1 at home to Liverpool. They had that awful grey kit on.

First Game 18 December 1976 Liverpool - we won 2:0 - My Grandfather paid the turnstile man to lift me over, I sat with my Grandfather, my Uncle and my mum's cousin.

Before I was 12 I had seen us Win, Draw and Lose at Wembley. (and lose at Villa park in a replay)

I thought this was how it was going to be for the rest of my life.

ps. The next time I saw us beat Liverpool there was 2 January 2016

was at that game...not my first though. Reason the crowd was so big was that the club was giving out vouchers for the League Cup final, due to be played at Wembley on 14 March. As you went though the turnstiles you got a card which meant you could had a possibilty of buying a final ticket.

1983 aged 9. We lost 1-0 to West Brom. Went with a mate and his dad, sat in the West stand upper and had peanut butter sandwiches. Funny the things that stay with you.

Man City 0-0. Behind the goal in the South Bank 14 December 1974. Don’t remember much about the game but the atmosphere got me hooked.

Bastards.

My first time at Upton Park was the final day of the 89/90 season. We beat Wolves 4-0. It was Liam Brady's final game and he scored the fourth in final minute sparking a pitch invasion. A great day.
