Unfortunately he is supposed to be a manager and tactician that can work that out.Ironing Board wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 5:10 pm Personally I think it is down to the fact he plays South American/Spanish style football. It is much slower due to the heat and concentrates on retention of the football. But in our climate that isn't so important. Climate is an underrated part of why football developed the way it did in different countries.
Imagine trying to play Klopp-style super-pressing in 100 degree heat!

He is a master tactician - he worked out that if he put in enough sub-par performances he would get a massive payout, and would be able to spend even more time on the golf course back in Chile while enjoying time with his grandkids!

What does that actually mean? Buying young hungry players, developing them and selling them on at a profit? That is also his Everton model, and was also the Dundee United and Ajax models....

I wish we never moved, we truly have been done over, really done over, some of our own fans are actually quite happy Moyes has returned, glad we moved for that. We deserve Moyes and he deserves us. Good luck to all!
Many were very happy that we had employed a serial winner in Pellegrini, but couldn’t wait to see the back of hime up until Saturday.

Yeah, you’re not wrong there. Whereas Moyes is such a master tactician he lost his job with no payout and got to spend 18 months with his grandkids as no one was desperate enough to offer him a job in that timeIroning Board wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 5:18 pm He is a master tactician - he worked out that if he put in enough sub-par performances he would get a massive payout, and would be able to spend even more time on the golf course back in Chile while enjoying time with his grandkids!

For 20/20 and moving forwards id give virtually anything for top 12 every year and an FA Cup run.
NOT ASKING TOO MUCH IS IT, surely were big and good enough for that easy going future.

Red Bull have the best scouting network in the business and spend money buying the best young players.
West Ham don’t.
West Ham don’t.

Didn't he get a survival bonus for steering us clear of relegation?Hammer1972 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 5:29 pm Whereas Moyes is such a master tactician he lost his job with no payout and got to spend 18 months with his grandkids as no one was desperate enough to offer him a job in that time

What about that Morelos guy at Rangers - he scores for fun even at Europa League level

I'd swap Cresswell for Arthur. I do think we need to go 3 at the back though.

He played a carbon copy of Jose twelve months ago. Basically, appear thoroughly disinterested, make odd decisions and generally provoke your bosses into paying you off, mire coffers into the grandkids trust and new year on the beach or golf course. Happy days. So many of them at it, no fear of failure.

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC
Was given 18 months. The same amount of time as both Howe and Benitez have on their contracts before they run out. Coincidence?
And even if Sully wanted to get rid of Moyes sooner, I.e, this summer it wouldn't cost them too much as he would only have a year left on his contract.
I see Alan Irvine is back, which is good as he is a well respected coach. And Moyes confirmed in his press conference that he has spoken to Pearce, but no guarantees as he has other jobs. Ex mentions he has asked for Billy McKinlay to return. But may be difficult as he is assistant manager at Stoke. So has a more secure job. Also hinted another ex player may join too. Be interesting to see who that could be. My inkling is it will be the man who's goal celebration shared my name.
Very interesting that every coach under Pellers left minus Xavi Valero the Goalkeeper coach. I was convinced Moyes would bring Chris Woods back. But maybe Valero is staying after all.
As much as I rate Moyes coaching staff, as he has a great mix of coaches that have managed too, i would like to see 1-2 younger coaches this time to work alongside the experienced Irvine and McKinlay &/or Pearce should they join Irivine. Just to have a great blend and to have some fresh ideas. Kevin Nolan, Joe Cole, James Collins. Maybe even convince Zabaleta to become a coach now.
Unless I missed it, was Moyes asked about whether a Director of Football will be brought in? Seeing as Sully is so out of touch and asks his manager to bring one in, instead of hiring a neutral one himself like almost every other club does.

They'll both play, with Cresswell the left of the back three.

According to old reports:
"Moyes would earn £1.25m if West Ham finish in 17th position but that could potentially rise to £2.1m depending on where the club end the season."
