Weren’t we playing Gillingham at the Boleyn when Frodo was in the stands when they filmed the first Green Street movie? Frodo is a hammer :eh:

The last time Defoe got sent off for us was at Gillingham

We were the team that was invited to play in Gillingham stalwart Andy Hessenthaler's testimonial

I have also been to Gillingham, Dorset. No prizes for which was the more lovelier.

Pretty sure Steve Lomas had a short spell down there at the back end of his career

Frank Nouble went on loan to Gills for 3 months and later via several clubs signed permanently for them.
Wiki says he's had 18 spells at clubs in a decade :)

Good pal of mine is a Gills fan having been brought up in Rainham (Kent). But having been born in Wanstead he has a huge soft spot for us. So will be interesting.

Gillingham was the first of his three red cards in his final season for us. His last was at Walsall.

We played Gillingham in four league matches in the 18 months between September 2003 and February 2005.

In these four matches we used an incredible 33 different players.

Alexandersson, Brevett, Bywater, Carrick, Chadwick, Cohen, Connolly, Dailly, Deane, Defoe, Etherington, Ferdinand, Fletcher, Harewood, Harley, Horlock, James, Lee, Lomas, Mackay, Melville, Mullins, Noble (David), Nowland, Pearce, Powell, Quinn, Rebrov, Repka, Reo-Coker, Sheringham, Williams, Zamora

Only Repka & Etherington appeared in all four games.

And we had Frodo in the stands - good times.

^^^^ Was just about to post the same. Decent strike rate with us.
Proper Medway man is Derek Hales, born in Lower Halstow where he ended up as landlord of The Three Tuns public house for a while. I think he was a games teacher at Howard School as well .

Gary Breen played for Gillingham before he played for us
Hmmm..That's where he must have honed his superb defensive skills.

A few loans through the years, Matt Fry (now a trainee investment manager playing for Herne Bay FC via Charlton), Frank Nouble (now at Colchester United), Josh Pask (now of Coventry) and Olly Lee (now at Gillingham on loan again?) all spent a season on loan with Gillingham when in our academy.

Highly rate goalkeeper Sam Baxter also joined them on a free transfer, he now plays for Bishop Stortford.

We haven't signed anyone from Gillingham in a long time.
